So smoking weed, blowing lines, and banging hookers (all victimless crimes) is now on the same level as fucking a little kid? Dude, get your head out of your ass. Did Michael Irvin fuck your mom or something?[/quote]
Hey since you’re going to drop to the level of a 3rd grader by bringing Mom into the argument, why don’t we go watch “Yo Momma” on MTV together. Sounds like fun, right?
Regardless, Irvin’s a piece of shit, I won’t change my opinion just because some worship his criminal ass. He’s an embarassment to the HOF.

If he’s an embarrassment, then what’s Lawrence Taylor? Similar issues: Drugs and Women. I’m sure there are a few more who are in the Hall and have shady off the field issues.
Separate example: Ray Lewis. He may have murdered somebody and he’s first ballad hall of famer when he retires. Deon Sanders. Show boating mother fucker and screwed random women.

I mentioned Lawrence Taylor. He’s an embarassment too. I don’t personally think Sanders had that much of an impact. I think he was wayyy overhyped in his days in Atlanta, and used his showmanship to his advantage.

Even a 3rd grader would know better than to compare a child rapist to a guy that got high and nailed hookers in his spare time.
I thought that was more of a 7th grade level comment, anyhow.

LT is more of a fuckup than Irvin, but he was also the most disruptive defensive player in NFL history. And if you really think Deion Sanders didn’t have much of an impact on the game, I suggest you stop watching football entirely. I know blind women that have a better understanding of the sport.

I cannot believe I am about to agree with a Steelers fan, but hey, life is funny like that.
Deion Sanders completely changed offensive gameplans all on his own. You simply would not throw to the side of the field he was on and you did not need to provide any safety help. The advantages that gives a defense are unparalleled.
No one here is defending the mistakes Michael Irvin made in his life, but given the fact that he is contrite about his mistakes, knows he is a very flawed person and actually trying to improve himself, are we to hold what he did against him forever?
LT is completely without remorse and that is a different story entirely… but are you so damn perfect so as to be able to judge Irvin?

Really? That’s interesting. You just called Deion Sanders one of the most disruptive IN NFL HISTORY. Time to break out the film reels.
Besides, blind women having a better understanding of football is about as batshit insane as Adolf Hitler being welcomed with praise at a Bar Mitzvah.

With comments like this, I’m amazed you can even find the power switch to turn on your computer.

The blind women in question know the difference between LT and Prime Time. Score one for them.

Rod Woodson was a better corner/safety and talked less shit. He’ll go in the hall before Deion and deserves too.

Woodson was not as good in coverage as Deion, but he was one of the best run support corners. I thought he was awesome as a safety, and I was extremely pissed that Pittsburgh dumped him so quickly after his knee injury.

Yep.
Deion was the best coverage corner in the history of the league and was ridiculously dangerous on interception returns. However, that was the extent of his game. He was worthless in run support, useless as a blitzer, and generally shied away from contact. For my money, Woodson was the better football player. He was a very good coverage guy (though nowhere near Deion’s level), was among the best in the league in run support, and was a fantastic blitzer when called upon.
The Deion versus Woodson comparison is kind of like the Jim Brown versus Walter Payton comparison. Jim Brown was the best pure runner the league had ever seen, but the rest of his game pretty much sucked. Payton, while not in Brown’s league as a runner, was a better football player IMO because he had much better all-around skills and could help the team even when the ball was not in his hands.
Steve and Steel Nation. I call BLASPHEMY!! How dare you bad mouth Rod Woodson. ROD FUCKIN WOODSON. And also, Rod got his knee injured trying to tackle Barry Sanders. Something Deion would never do.
I said I felt he was a better overall football player than Deion, who I hold in very high regard. Deion was better in coverage, but Woodson’s willingness to hit people puts him over the top IMO.

Dude, I loved Rod Woodson as much as the next Stiller fan, but he couldn’t cover as good as Deion, who is the best pure cover corner, ever. But, that’s like saying he wasn’t as fast as Justin Gatlin, in that it’s not exactly bad-mouthing someone to say they aren’t as good as someone that is the best in the world.
But, if I had to choose a player for my All-Time best team, I would pick Woodson over Deion.
