Zombie Apacolypse...........Closer Than We Think?

^ I ment specifically in the Crazies how the military actually came off as a protagonist itself. That is probably how it would really happen, quarantine and kill anything that comes out of that zone.

Ah, gotcha. As cold and heartless as it may seem to do so, it’s a necessary evil to be done. It’s been a while since I saw the movie, but didn’t they track them from a specific signal by satellite? I know they started all over again with the next town, but I can’t remember if they tracked them specifically or not.

Yep them specifically, the town was not only quarantined but satellite survelience. I dont think it was heartless just real to life, you were able to see from both sides of the coin. The people who were actually trying to live and the military who was actually trying to contain. While it had its head slapping moments, I thought it was done better than say 1000 zombies taking over a tank.

I loved the walking dead, but that was my WTF moment. If you are in a tank unless you run out of gas there is no way you should lose.

Even running out of fuel you’re still sitting inside a giant piece of impenetrable steel. The only way you’d lose is if you’re dumb enough to open the hatch without turning everything outside to mush first.

My only issue with The Crazies is how stupid the characters ended up being. And yes, I’m talking about the main characters.

For instance; who goes into a dark building, knowing who/what could possibly be inside waiting for them, alone? And of all things to have the other person do, why would you tell them to wait outside, in the dark, in a wide open space? It’s like they asked for trouble throughout half that movie. Another good example is the lady going back into her unborn baby’s room to get all sentimental. Wouldn’t you think that it wouldn’t be a good time to drop your guard and get emotional? That guy could’ve been saved from having his hand stabbed, wasting the precious ammo of one of only a handful of guns, and the general trouble of having to risk being killed. The only thing they went back to the house for was the car, so in true horror fashion, one of the characters deviates from the plan and does something stupid.

The sad part is that people are so touchy-feely these days that it would most likely be a common occurrence. Everyone would either break down and be worthless or they’d slip up by involving emotion and get killed because of it.

Also, the two remaining characters could’ve saved themselves a lot of trouble by shooting the crazy deputy as soon as he killed the fed. I could go on with how badly they reacted to things, but I don’t want to seem anymore anal retentive than I already do. lol[/quote]

Thats some strong shit your smokin dude.

Wow, way to contribute to the conversation…

After everything that’s happened to them throughout the movie, logically speaking it’s best they stick together. It’s called a force multiplier. Ever heard of it?

Exactly, it would have been more believable if there had been 990 dead bodies around the tank. But there was nothing around it but dead soldiers inside.

Let me give this thread a nice little bump with another piece from our dear friends at Cracked. lol

Notice, though, that the time stamp on this one and the anti-zombie one are 3 years apart. This one was published first.

Enjoy.

Edit: I’m re-watching The Crazies right now.

^ So after watching it again did you have a different take? I have only seen it once, need to rewatch.

I’ll have to re-re-watch it because I was also fucking about on here while I watched it. I was looking for little details that would give away things.

One thing I’ve always wondered is what happens to them during the 2nd containment protocol in the next city over.

I also wonder how they survive the truck crash with no seat belts.

Many more little questions to come. lol

Alright. IMO when you are going to watch a movie you have to set the mood. Lights off, phone on vibrate, no internet. You have to emerse yourself into the movie to really appreciate it. It should not be to do what you did. Come on man.

Lol wrong thread! XD

If it counts, the first time I saw it was at the movies on a bigass screen with surround sound. lol

Luckily it is one of those movies you can watch multiple times.
