Over the years and through your learning curve, what were your worst programs and the faulty logic behind them, and your best?
when i first started training my split was push pull legs, push day was flat, inline and decline dumbbell presses, thent the same for flies. ALWAYS 3 sets of 10 or 3 sets of 6 then maybe 2 sets of 20 on rope pushdowns. Push day was biceps followed by back(yes you read that right) with back usually being all the hammerstrength pulldown machines. I reasoned that i pulled to much with my biceps on back so i needed to tire them out first hahah. Leg day was squats and deadlifts then stiff legs, that was it. Did this program the first summer i trained. Same sets reps every day. The only thing it tought me was that hard work can pay off. Gained 10 pounds over the summer going from 195-205, literally didnt take one day off and ate like a horse. By far the worst program ive ever done, but it was my first!
Ive always responded best to poliquins twice a day splits working the same muscle group in the same day with heavy weights in the morning, then the same set rep bracket at night but with a slow tempo ie 505. Also saw amazing progress on his super accumulation program. Other noteworthy programs were thibs behind the iron curtain, and his bench press program.
what about your guys best and worst?
