You shouldn’t care if he likes men, as long as he’s a good doctor.
lmao
I’m going to hold off on taking his advice and do my own research. My friend who is also a part of the TRT community and more familiar agrees with you that this is bunk advice.
Knowledge is always the best weapon against lazy doctoring.
With those high antibodies test, it points towards that you have an autoimmune disorder called Hashimoto which attacks your own thyroid, and will eventually cause you to get hypothyroidism (which it seems like you are not too far away from).
You will NEED to start thyroid medication, just like a diabetic needs insulin. The earlier you start, the better. I would recommend you search on google “Stop the thyroid madness hashimoto’s” to learn what it is and how to best deal with it. Most doctors sucks when it comes to this so you should make sure that you understand everything about it yourself.
Your DHEA-S is low and you should try to find out why, so you can fix it and get your levels higher (DHEA supplement could be a good way to increase it but you still need to find out why you have so low DHEA-S).
thanks for the good advice. I’ll check that out. You should check out a book called THE DIABETES CODE
Get a hormone doctor. Contact me and ill be more than happy to send you a few names like my doc and others depending where you live.
Dont go to a trt clinic they aren’t setup to help someone like you. I wish more doctors were actual hormone experts and spent the time really fixing people instead of just raising hormone levels.
Roger that. Sent you an email.
Bro resend I saw it and was busy. Now I don’t see it.
done
@enackers where are some good places to learn about optimal values for these? (DHEA, T3, T4, etc) just around on the forum here?
Bro I couldn’t tell you about dhea. For the other stop thyroid madness website
You want to test for DHEA-S and you want it to be on the very top of the reference range.
As for the other tests, search on google “stop the thyroid madness optimal lab” and click on the first link.
Check out these updates here, with new bloods from Late May. My Notes written along the side.
Things seem to be moving in a good direction, but my LDL keeps going up.
Iodine supplementation might be helping boost ft3 levels.
I am now 179 lbs and about ~19% BF (by caliper estimate), down from 189 lbs @ 21%.
I don’t get the free t and total t. It’s very odd how you can just go up a couple hundred points in total t and end up with so much free t. Especially since your total t is so low and shbg isn’t too crazy low. Your free t is measured in what? PG/DL.
Estrogen is not bad around 30-40 for a natural guy. That is going to keep your heart, brain, bones, skin and so much more healthy as you age. Thyroid will back it up. If that starts dropping you will have issues. Your cholesterol issues will probably be answered by someone else. All I know is TRT helps and usually normalused those values
I noticed your reverse t3 is high. You want that below 5. Or lower than 10 and you’ll probably notice a difference if you have symptoms. You might even feel more well being and the body will overall be more effective in terms of burning fat and etc .thyroid is a vital hormone. Extremely vital. That body fat just shreds off me when I started my armor thyroid. I didn’t have to change my diet at all. My story is way different though. I had extreme fatigue.
Anyways, my wife fixed her rt3 by eating better. She stopped cutting carbs and added more meat and carbs like rice and etc.
If you have been low carb diet then I suggest fixing that and you’ll probably see TSH come back down and less rt3 will allow body to create more free t3
T4 converts to rt3. Therefore if body makes less rt3 from t4, then the body should make more t3. I’m going from memory on the conversion, but I’m 99.99 percent sure. Just double check what I said.
I am 10000% sure about the carb reduction causing high rt3 though.
Sorry I edited this after I read some old posts of yours.
Can you make a list of things that you’ve changed from the last labs until these in lifestyle, diet, and exercise? This will tell us what’s driving what and we can give better advice on the changes you saw in the labs.
Also, I did notice that DHEA levels were a bit on the lower side the last time(s) you pulled them. You may want to try supplementing micronized DHEA at around 25mg/day for starters and see if that helps get you in a little bit better place, and make that marker a regular on your labs.
If you are already supplementing DHEA, put it on your next labs and see what effect it’s having.
I did high carb before and still had the high rt3. If anything it went down slightly, I was easily eating 200g+ of carbs per day when the rt3 was 20. Lowering carbs and it went down to 15.
Very very odd. Not sure whats up there, but there are other factors besides carbs. I would go to the stop the thyroid madness website and read up on it. I think cortisol plays a role and carbs/insulin that I mentioned. Others can be infections or immune issues.
I eat half a bowl of hummus and chips in one sitting haha. Then again thats a meal for me.
