Your Favorite Shot

Cosmonaut: shot of tequila, dip one side of the lemon slice in sugar, the other in ground coffee, drink shot then eat lemon slice. I always wondered why it was called the cosmonaut when there was no vodka, but I think it might have something to do with the effect it has: it’s where your night takes off!
Wow what a shot. I can see why your night takes off. Just imagine the crash afterwards.

Yeah the next morning you’ll be feeling rough. The effect is like Asterix’s magic potion though. Highly recommended when you want to get messy.

Pardon my ignorance, are all these really called shots? Before this thread I would call them drinks because I think of a shot as something in a shot glass that you actually shoot. The only spirits I think of going in a shot glass and people shooting are vodka and tequila. Keep in mind this question is coming from someone who hasn’t been in a bar since he was a kid.

Bummer, I was going to say that my MMR booster didn’t hurt too badly, but you beat me to it.

Technically they’re shooters. Think of it like a cocktail in a shot glass.

Casa Herradura Seleccion Suprema.

Most of the Crown Royal and schnapps shots are pretty good.

Crown + butter shots = maple syrup
Crown + apple pucker = caramel apple

Wild turkey shot topped with Tabasco is pretty good too.

My favorite shot was that 500-yard kill Carlos Hathcock made by drilling a North Vietnamese sniper through his right eye right through the tube of his own scope. Now that was a great fucking shot.

I thought they proved that wrong on an episode of myth busters?

Jagermeister. Not a jager bomb, just jagermeister.

I’ve really gotten in to herbal liquors, unfortunately all of the ingredients aren’t disclosed so who knows what I’m shooting.

The “drunk” is different though, altered by herbal effects and the hangover, I find, is counteracted.

Jager, for example, offers blueberry extract as a disclosed ingredient, along with other antioxidants that start fighing your hangover before it starts.
What you are looking for is what is called “Magenbitter” which are not really drinks but remedies when your stomache is upset.

They are indeed very herb oriented and almost imppossible to get drunk on,due to the bitter taste.

If you fight through anyway, almost no hangover.

Everybody says Jager is pretty gross but I happen to enjoy it. I do shoot it but I’ll sip it too. I’ve been plenty drunk with Jager but no hangover. Just a little dehydration if I don’t keep up with water the night before but it’s an easy fix.

I realize these drinks are used as medicine, or were. It’s my understanding monks used to make the stuff though I’m sure the recipes are earlier than that.

I would like to try Chartreuse and would love to know all the ingredients in jager. But from what they’ve listed, I can actually feel good about drinking it.

Mythbusters weren’t there, man. They weren’t fuckin there!!!

All they proved is that they couldn’t duplicate what Hathcock did.

But Steve Reichert could.

prairie fire - tequila & tabasco sauce
rocky mountain bear fucker - 1/3 tequila, 1/3 southern comfort, 1/3 whisk(e)y
vodka on ice

Black Sambuca. It’s so bad it’s good.

I mixed up a combination of peach schnapps and southern comfort that was pretty tasty, no idea if it actually has a name, just picked two random bottles off the shelf.

We are going to be partaking of Gold Schlager tomorrow night at work. Our once a month party.
