Your Election Prediction

Cool, you can dodge the point with humor. But now what.

If I’m wrong point out where I’m wrong.

What do you think made America great?

Do you even know?

Here’s a clue…it was not socialism…or higher taxes.

You didn’t read the document from Pew Research, did you.

In fact, I think the entire tax system is upside down. Where is the proof that such a progressive tax system even works?

Let’s say you owned a company that sold widgets. And the more widgets that your top sales people sold you paid them a smaller commission. Yet, the sales people that sold the least widget received a higher commission. How long do you think the top sellers would continue to sell more? They would fall in sales and there would be more mediocre sales people.

We are not rewarding the proper actions in this country. How about we have a tax system that rewards those who contribute to the economy. The more you make the LESS you pay in taxes? That might encourage people to make more money instead of less.

Sounds silly right? Well no sillier than what you are talking about and at least my example is rooted in logic.

Psychology 101, an action that is rewarded is likely repeated.

You didn’t read the constitution did you?

If you had you would know that it is governments job to protect its people. Beyond that charity is left to local church’s, neighbors, friends and organizations.

Actually, that doesn’t work. People tend to hoard their money and it is not recirculated back into the economy. I personally am in favor of a flat tax, that way nobody cant bitch about who is paying more or less.

I have not read the constitution in full, no.

I appreciate your honesty. Please read that document in its entirety it’s important and one of the reasons we are having a tough time is that we have gotten too far away from the Constitution. Do you think for a second our founding fathers wanted a federal government to have grown to the size it is currently at? Do you think they wanted the federal government to be able to do all things for all people?

No way.

Do you keep your money under your sofa? Hoarding isn’t always a bad thing, people mainly put their money in banks and investment institutions (stocks/bonds/etc.) where the money gets leveraged elsewhere. I believe this what what @countingbeans was getting at when he said you don’t understand fractional banking. Do you?

I think if we were more efficient with are spending, cutting the fat, holding people accountable for taxes paid (including the corporations you have a boner for), then little more capital would need to be raised to fix anything.

I am a big fan of Jefferson and Hamilton, even if they had opposing views. Jefferson made a lot of extremely insightful quotes to the effect of controlling how money is distributed, eg keeping it out of the hands of a small group of people. He was completely against the federal reserve, which I am too, for reasons relating to corruption. But at the same time, we do not live in an economy remotely like theirs - we are a global economy, we are based on technology and computing. In some respects you have to take what they said into context.

I don’t disagree with much of what you’ve said here. But at the same time when you speak about handing people free stuff that is certainly not what Jefferson or Hamilton had in mind as a job for the Federal government.

One more point I think you need to consider. When you pit people against each other as the left does. And make claims that millionaires, billionaires and corporations are evil how does that help anyone? If the government harms those millionaires, billionaires and corporations they in effect harm the people. It is all circular. When you realize this you then realize that the free stuff old Bernie is promising is not actually free. And in the end through higher prices and perhaps down sizing business (which I will do) because of tax increases only harms the very people that Bernie is claiming that he wants to help.

It’s an economic feedback loop.

Give it some thought.

You wouldn’t want to live in a country with socialized medicine. Setting aside the US’s 20 Trillion dollar debt, the level of care in a public system sucks.

Have you seen what the conditions in Venezuela’s socialized healthcare system are like?

Are you a business owner?

Because I am.

I am a part-owner and help run a small business of 8 employees, you seem to me like the kind of person I would NEVER hire.

You believe you deserve things, that people like me exist to give you things you deserve. You have no idea what it is like to write a personal check to cover payroll, or wonder when that client is going to pay so YOU can get a check.

People like you make me literally, physically ill.

You think you somehow deserve a job, but you have no idea what it is like to create the environment that gives you THAT FUCKING JOB.

In all fairness to him, he has been fed propaganda for the past 8 years. For example, if someone was 16 years old eight years ago they are now a 24 year old young adult who thinks the world owes them something.

Yeah this is how anyone in university or recently graduated thinks.

It really is a disgusting attitude.

Rich people = bad

Job = I deserve one

If I see somebody who has what I want, it should be given to me by the government.

Clearly if they have something nice, they are rich bigots who don’t deserve it…but I do.

Disgusting.

Your statement was “this is THE MOST systematic study you will find regarding wage stagnation”.

Your statement was NOT “this is a good study regarding wage stagnation and you should read it”

Your statement was that that one study is the single best study in existence about wage stagnation. Not that it was an interesting and valuable study. That it was THE MOST. That shit requires evidence. What are the other studies? Why are they not as systematic as the one you linked? Why is the one you linked better?

If I make a claim that says, “this drug is THE MOST effective drug at treating osteoporosis and remineralizing bones”, people would rightly ask me what my evidence was that this drug of mine was THE MOST effective. Clinical trial studies? Long term outcome studies? I mean, do you AT LEAST have a comparative study between your drug and the others on the market that shows it is more effective?

If I just posted one fucking study and didn’t reference anything else, didn’t even TRY to give an overview on the other studies that existed, and didn’t offer ANY FUCKING EVIDENCE THAT MY CLAIM TO BE THE BEST WAS TRUE… they’d toss me out on my ass and I’d be a laughingstock.

So grow the fuck up. Support your argument that that particular study is THE MOST SYSTEMATIC study, and THE BEST STUDY.

That is what you need evidence for. You wouldn’t have needed evidence to say “this is a good study, read it”. But that’s not what you said, was it? No it fucking wasn’t.

So, evidence. What are the other studies, why are they weaker or less comprehensive, and why is that one you posted the best.

And by the way, 1 bloody study with 40 references isn’t that fucking impressive. Here, on my desk, I have a study with 97 references. It was ONE review out of 35 reviews for THAT YEAR alone on DNA sequencing. It is one out of about 7600 studies of DNA sequencing methods that year alone.

On my hard drive I have about 2 gigabytes of studies in pdf format, and I run through on average about 30-40 studies a fucking week in reading.

One study is not the end of the discussion, and it doesn’t impress me. My thesis was over 3 times as long and had almost three times the references.

Ugh… unless Hillary gets outed for being the unscrupulous, conniving, immoral waste of oxygen that she is (and Bernie gets the democratic nomination)… there won’t even be an acceptable candidate–and this is coming from a die-hard libertarian (read: I’d take Sanders over Trump any day). Don’t get me wrong, there typically isn’t a good candidate in my eyes… but usually a “lesser evil” that I can vote for, for the sake of keeping the other scumbag out of office. This year… I don’t see how I can make that call, because I can’t honestly predict which one will be more damaging to our country. Read: Trump vs. Clinton… I’ll have to abstain from voting entirely.

Back to the original question of my prediction…Trump, just because the country has been so far left for so long… moderates and right wingers alike will show up in en mass just to level us out a little.

Out of curiosity why would you pick Sanders over Trump?

Oh grow up.

  1. You didn’t read it
  2. If you are expecting a thesis level presentation of studies, screw you. You know that is completely unrealistic. My wind energy paper I wrote alone was about the same size as that study, but took several months to complete. Get back down to reality.
  3. It is better than anything else anyone posted so far
  4. Quit playing word games. Admit you are wrong.

I’m curious.

You have lectured Accountants on the Economy.

You have lectured Business Owners on the theory of business.

You have lectured Scientists on how a study should look.

How old are you?

What is your career?

What is your level of education and vitae that makes you such an authority to lecture accomplished people in their area of expertise?

That would go a long way in making your point more believable.
