Yes or No?

Tyke, you make some interesting points, but your facts are incorrect, and I don’t blame you for that. The Bush administration has tried so hard to make it seem as if the weapons inspections are ineffective. However, four years ago Cheney called the inspections “the most intrusive and effective mass disarmament in history.” Your statement that the previous inspections were only fruitful because of a single insider is COMLPETELY untrue. In fact the previous inspections were very effective even with no Iraqi cooperation. Would you like to see the documentation? See I actually have evidence, not just BS statements about “inspectors in an area the size of california.” That statement is dubious, because you know nothing about their inspection methods or tools, nor about the nature of the things they are looking for. Both Hans Blix and the head of the IAEA both say they can complete their inspections concretely in the prescribed timeframe, with or without cooperation, but you just don’t trust them it seems. It’s basically a matter of trust. Why do you believe the biased source (Bush Admin) over the unbiased source (inspections team)? Remember, you are trusting an adminstration that has just been proven by an unbiased mediator to have FORGED DOCUMENTS to use as evidence against Iraq. Also, UK intelligence says that Colin Powell lied about some of the facts he presented on linking the “Al-Qaeda Poison Mastermind” to Iraq. How can you overlook those lies? At this point I just wish the administration would admit that they really don’t care about disarmament. It’s obvious they want regime change regardless of whether he is armed or not. You know, I definitely wouldn’t support a war in that context, but at least they’d be honest for once. And hey Tyke, if you still trust this administration’s stance on the war that’s fine; at this stage I’m really not trying to change your mind. I’m just trying to educate you to the facts before you make that decision. Hope you learned something, or at least opened your eyes to something. I can provide you links to documention of the administration’s blatant lies and to the effectiveness of previous UN inspections if you would like.

Nah!

too late to turn back now…yes

I don’t get why everyone’s so goddamned pissed off about everything. A bunch of you guys are saying crap like “there’s evidence that Bush and the Pentagon aren’t doing the right thing.” What the fuck?? I mean, Bin Laden is a terrorist, Saddam is a dictator, and North Korea has just been stealthily pissing us off for years! Get rid of all of them! How do any of us benefit from having them in power? How do any of the citizens of those countries benefit? Why the fuck do the French have to be such whiney pussies? War is the answer! Onward!

Sponny, your arguments have effectively ended this debate. I can’t imagine anyone here arguing against your clear-cut logic. Additionally, your occasional glimpses of CNN and newspaper perusal has someone given you the insight into the subtleties of international politics that those “pussies” in France could only dream of. They are so afraid of fighting, unlike us brave American. I mean that’s why they don’t want war right? They couldn’t possibly have legitimate arguments, those are reserved for us good ol’ Americans! Watch out Iraq, North Korea, Iran, Syria, and whoever else gets in our way, if we don’t like it doesn’t belong on this earth…HERE WE COME!!!

Now seriously, thanks DocT and the others who have actually made logical statements that have shaped my view of this situation, I’ve learned a lot from some of you. I still don’t think we’ve exhausted all of the options before going to war though. Also, I don’t understand how anyone, especially an AMERICAN can call France “pussies”. I love this country, and it would take something far more drastic than a misunderstanding for me to overlook what should be gratitude towards France. They don’t have to pretend to agree with us because we liberated then, much in the same way that we’re allowed to disgree with them even though THEY LIBERATED US.

No, I will not be cannon fodder for the Jews. I object to my country fighting in Iraq or eventually Iran and Syria (just wait and see) for the sole protection of Israel.

France, Germany, Ruissa, and China are going agianst United States because they will loses millions of dollars in trade. Or are they concern about the Iraqie people? I think its the millions and millions of dollar in trade money is what they want really

Its all politcal BS.

Whats up w/ Iran wanting nuclar weapons now also. I think we do need keep world order… Now its it the US job to do that? Or the UN? It really should be the UN job to control these countries but they are not.

I say Iraq will be a message to all countries that if your not suppose to have nukes don’t build it! Or even think about…

NO!

It seems to me that alienating the whole world (except Britain, Bulgaria and Spain) is not the right way to go about anything. Remember the coalition on '91? Now compare it to the coalition of 2003. Maybe there’s a hit in there that Bush just doesn’t want to see?

Iraq has been under an embargo for a decade. What millions of dollars in trade are you talking about? Geez, how much trade does China have with Iraq? But of course, everyone has a self-interest. Everyone, except the US, selflessly trying to liberate the oil of Iraq… oops, I mean, the people of Iraq from Saddam.

POP UP THE VOLUME !!

Here’s some recent facts for those of you who think Saddam is cooperative, or will be cooperative…I recently read in a New York Times article that inspectors did find new weapons. Weapons we were never aware of. It is a missle (banned) with a warhead that separates into smaller warheads, meant to distribute WMD (banned) in a widespread manor. Saddam has also been developing an unmanned drone that is capable of travelling further than previous drones. In another sign of Saddam’s cooperation: U-2 spy planes were intercepted by Iraqi fighter planes the other day on a mission for UN inspectors. They were forced to abandon the mission because of these fighters. Didn’t Saddam agree to the U-2 fly overs?
So what if we don’t have the support of the rest of the UN. We’ll get the job done anyway. And when the next world crisis comes along, and the UN can’t fix it, it will once again be the US and Britain who gets the job done.

Abaddon, what the FUCK are you talking about!? France, Russia, and China have BILLION dollar trade agreements with Iraq. See:

However, there is a clear solution to the crisis. I can’t believe no one on this board has thought of it. Get Bush, Blair, Chirac, Shroeder, Putin, and that Chinese guy all together at Gold’s in Venice for a BENCH PRESS COMPETITION! I know Bush can do 185 for reps. That Putin guy looks pretty wiry though, and being former KGB he probably knows all those Soviet weight training secrets.

thanks gt1370a for posting that… Hell why does US need to take oil from Iraq when they buy millions of barrels now…

The war is not about oil… for the US anyways… I just don’t think it is…
