Didn’t do the raises last week so didn’t up the weight, but added a set to ensure progression. struct 30 second rest times had the pump extremely viscous lol. Had to rest pause the last two sets .
Bench felt great…shoulder didn’t hurt anymore for whatever reason. Rows felt strong as hell.
Used the thicker barbell for bench today. Its 32mm i think, rather my usual power bar at whatever that is, 28? Whatever. Feels way different, and for Whatever reason, this small change is better on my shoulders, as in Zero pain.
When i benched 150kg, i did it with this bar…and i had originally switched to this bar at that time because of pain when using the usual power bar. There is something to that. Last time i was coming back from an injury when i began using it…
Well, I did it. Benched 140kg today, as planned. It went up pretty nice, too. No sticking points. A good base I can use for December. Some good peaking data. Happy.
That rounds out my pre vacation training. Now for a full system reset in the beautiful north of my great country.
I’ll ponder what comes next training wise while I am away, by a cycle of Dan John’s Even Easier Strength is looking tasty.
Will be spending the holiday relaxing and exploring. With morning sessions of mostly high intensity intervals and some steady state cardio because I simply won’t sleep past about 6am each day…the old body clock never lets me off. The family don’t have this issue , so I’ll always have that 90 minutes to 2 hours of me time in the AM.
I see that the hotel gym has a well stacked multi station, so I’ll smash some accessories on that also. No free weights, so will be a good little break from it.
