Will Roy Moore Be Taken Down?

Yes this goes with my theory that the more homophobic you are as a politician the more likely you are going to get caught at some point doing something gay.

If you know a guy who really hates gay people be careful with your kids around him. He probably secretly wants to bang your 16 year old son.

Family values conservative Republican. Make churches pay taxes!

Weelllll… (puffing on my cigar, lounging in my armchair, stroking my beard), in my learned opinion…you can’t, or are too much of a pussy (double entendre there sports fans), to attack yourself for what you hate the most about yourself, so you attack it ferociously in others, as payback, or is it brokeback…?

This is even more pronounced in Muslim countries - pretty much all rabid homophobes are gay.

As a rule, I always avoided public restrooms in such places - the least that could happen was someone masturbating and looking for eye contact. Also, if one of the locals rants for 10 minutes how God will punish evil Westerners with earthquakes and fire from the sky for the “despicable act of unnatural intercourse”, you can be 100% certain he’ll be waiting for you in the restroom with his pants down.

Haha so true… Well Moore & Pence are super outspoken homophobics…my guess is Pence has given him the rusty trombone a few times

Some hope for humanity as the polls are shifting away from Moore. Please let them be true.

I’ll believe it when I see it. I have a feeling there are quite a few “hidden” Moore voters out there.

Amen. I’m not in Alabama, but there’s no way I would vote for him.

Peggy Noonan did nice Op Ed this week about the credibility of the Washington Post story on Moore. She felt like it was sound, met the standard for good journalism.

Really, I think he’s a predator. One of the women was in her late 20s at the time, and had sought Moore out for legal help in a divorce and child custody dispute. She was unemployed and was seeing him for legal advice, turning over temporary custody to her mother. She claims he molested her in his office. This kind of thing, where someone is already having so many legal and financial problems so they’re easy to victimize. He seemed to have a pattern of finding women who were already on the margins, had no one in their corner.

His views on 9/11 alone should have made him go away.

Late to the party as I don’t spend nearly as much time on here lately, but happy cake day man!! Hope it was fun.

If his views are true then God is a terrorist just like the people who did 9/11.

Er, excuse me God is just angry about gay people so he has other people fly planes into buildings to kill tons of people and ruin countless lives. Praise be to God! Pass me that collection plate!

God’s just like Trump you see. Gets angry and struggles with emotional control.

Not surprised at all that Trump sides with his base and Moore. He denies it so it never happened. Right, because politicians all tell the truth.

At this point my only hope is, if he wins, Mitch follows through on his plan to toss his ass out.

Not to minimize Moore’s actions, but McConnell hasn’t done one thing about any that may have had sins hushed up by the $17 MM slush fund.

Seemingly little outrage there, by the media.

I don’t disagree, at all. The whole thing is gross. Anyone who used his position to extort sex should resign, period.

While I am of the firm conviction that Moore should not be a US Senator, I find the prospect of his being tossed post-election by McConnell troubling. At this point, the Alabama electorate is fully cognizant of Moore’s reprehensible past. If they (the electorate) choose to elect him anyway, on what basis does McConnell have the right to vitiate their informed decision?

If we were talking about behaviors and/or facts that didn’t come to light until after the election, that would be one thing–McConnell would be justified in removing him. But if Alabamians prefer a pedophile over a Dem to represent them, well, that simply demonstrates the degree to which their values are warped. And it’s not clear to me that it would be appropriate for McConnell to take it upon himself to overrule their decision, no matter how perverse it is.

Regardless of what actually happened, Moore has not been accused of anything that would make him a “pedophile.”

A 32 y.o. man who seeks out and engages in sexual activity with a 14 y.o. girl is a pedophile in my book (and I dare say in a whole lot of other people’s books as well). If there’s some obscure legal hair-splitting you have in mind wherein the term doesn’t technically apply in this case, I’ll leave you to walk that side of the street by yourself.

If you want to throw words around and render them meaningless, that’s fine; however, pedophilia is a psychological disorder involving sexual attraction towards prepubescent children. If every story about Moore is 100% true, he is still not a pedophile.

As I said: If you, consistent with your contrarian tendencies, wish to focus on the issue of whether the word pedophilia is technically correct in describing 32 y.o. Roy Moore’s sexual interaction with a 14 y.o. girl–as opposed to focusing on the infinitely more important issue of the heinous nature of the act itself–knock yourself out.
