Will Prince of Persia Be the New Fight Club?

While we’re on topic Michael Jai White would have kicked ass in this movie as the lead.

Gemma Arteton (the love interest in this movie) is hot, not Scarlett Johannssen hot, but hot nevertheless. You probably saw her in RocknRolla, Quantam of Solace or Clash of the Titans. Gawd certain British chicks rock.

Well he is “HUGE” compared to pretty much every other scrawny actor out there. I mean any actor who puts on 15lbs of muscle is considered huge cause most of the other actors look anorexic… He doesn’t quite have the hawt abz to be the next Fight Club body type IMO.

I’m not sure, but I think if he got as lean as Pitt was in FC he would actually be even smaller! I guess that means Pitt was a true mass monster…

I used to think she was hot. Then I realised she just has good makeup. Still cute, but definitely not as hot as she appears on film. Better than most British girls, though.

I missed a Maggie Gylenhaal bash-a-thon? Goddamnit. It seems that skank has found another way to piss me off.

She was hot in “Secretary”. I’ve jacked like a million times to that movie (and I’ve only seen it twice)

He has cool hair.

At least he isn’t Tobey Maguire.

I kind of feel bad for Maggie after all of this.

Sorry,

He doesn’t look persian at all. Is that Kid Rock in the photo?
they should have cast oded fehr. he’s not huge, but at least he looks the part.

The other thing about Jake Gyllenhal is that he looks like the uglier-yet-presentable brother of a more handsome actor.

You know they way Dennis Quaid is more handsome than Randy, Jeff Bridges more handsome than Beau, I think Tom Cruise has a brother ( He was Ethan in “Lost”)
So maybe out there is Jake’s hansome brother. No it’s not Maggie…she’d even make an ugly guy.
LMAO! That post needs to be carved in stone for posterity, for you may well have uncovered the 11th commandment of movie nerd humor: “Thou shalt not be more successful than your better looking sibling”.

Don’t forget Joey Travolta, Frank Stallone and Joan Cusack. Tom Cruise’s brother just edges in because I think he’s only his half brother. Nevertheless, your rule still stands.

In society today, anyone who looks like they have ever touched a weight is “Huge” in a movie. Look at Tobey Mcguire in Spiderman, he toned up a little and people started calling him “Huge”.

To this day, I’m not convinced that Tobey Maguire worked out for Spiderman: the ‘after’ in his only shirtless scene could’ve just been a body double seeing as how the ‘before’ was just as convincing.

Wait?!?! Jake however you pronounce his last name has a sister?? I thought that was him in drag in all those roles.

The most evident sign of “CGI Bodybuilding” is in the last Incredible Hulk movie with the guy who played The Abomination before he turned into the creature.

I agree…I think they dd the same with Tobey but since there isn’t much to build up, we fell for it.

Absolutely. Tim Roth even said in an interview that he wasn’t contracted to work out for the role (!), even though he wanted to in order to get a handle on the character (as you know, the comic Blonsky was a brute). The results were pretty lame - not so much because the CGI was terrible, but because they superimposed definition onto his completely untrained body, and tried to do too much with too little.

The musculature of ‘proto-Arnie’ from Terminator Salvation was far more convincing even though it wasn’t a pixel perfect recreation of Roland Kickinger’s physique. It was more convincing because they had more to work with and Kickinger’s motion capture work was more effective because of both his experience of walking around at a heavier weight and with posing. In short, he could carry himself like a young Arnie did.

To be honest, it took me a while to even consider that it was a fake.

The clincher for me was Spider-man 2 when the extent of his ‘working out’ was a wide shot of him taking his sweater off and he still looked scrawny.

There was so much hype over his prep for the first movie, but nothing for the sequel. No surprise then that he starved himself for Seabiscuit (his previous movie).

It’s sad that while some actors will work their asses off to physically prepare for a role (Christian Bale SEVERAL times), others, whether by their own choice or due to the decisions of the studio heads/producers/director just have CGI artists do everything for them…

Christian Bale is insane, from the machinist to batman begins he handles business.

In American Psycho too, his best film.

This, my wife gets mad at me cause everytime we watch Dark knight I am making comments about this chick. It looks like her face is slowly melting or it is Tommy Lee Jones in drag.
I’m not alone!

What do you guys think his weight is in the film?
I was slightly disheartened when my brother came back from the cinema yesterday to tell me gyllehaal was massive in the film. But then again, this is the same brother who told me he needs to lose some weight the other day (he’s 6ft4 at around 178 lbs).
I was trying to argue with him that he was far from huge, but he wasnt having it. Prick.

I have always thought Jake Gyllenhaal was extremely over rated. He’s kind of a goofy looking bastard…I did enjoy the movie Bubble Boy, but everything else he has done has been just alright. I remember all the hype about him started when he did that movie with Jennifer Anniston about working at Wal-Mart or something.

I think Maggie is a good actress, but hard to look at. She has a pretty decent body though…

Donnie Darko was decent. He’s no action hero though.

And wtf is with those god awful British accents?
He was good in broke back mountain. As were anne hathaway’s ta-tas.
