If people outside of the U.S. are not overly friendly to you maybe it is becuase of your dck head attitude, or that you make ignorant and Un-intelligent statements?

On what basis are you claiming that The U.S> is the greatest country in the history of man?

Is it the size of your army (the same army that invented the term ??friendly fire??)
Is it your strong economy?
Is it your well respected and intelligent leader?

If you wish to make stupid ass comments like this may I suggest you read up (OK maybe you can find a film about the following, I know Mel Gibson makes world history much easier to understand for you)

Ancient Egyptians
Byzantines
the Roman empire
Acient Greeks
Britain (during the industrial revolution when they controlled 90% of global trade)

The US today does not even come close sorry dude

Shit posts like this are pure jealousy. To claim that the US doesn’t ccome close to these old civilizations is silly.

can you explain how currently the US is even close to controlling 90% of global trade?

can you show the source for your statistics and adequately explain the variables in the process?

Google would be a gret place to start if you wish to find statistics realting to Britains global power during the indutrial revolution, my examples of course are only relative to the time that they took place, during the industrial revolution Britain had the largest and best Navy in the world, but if that Navy was around today it of course would not stand up almost any countries current Naval capabilities

Is that the ultimate mark of a great civilization? Repressing free trade? How many of those civilizations put a man on the moon?

Over the last (approximately) 100 years the US has led the world economically, militarily, scientifically, even our crappy TV and movies seem to drive world culture changes.

You may not like it but it is real.

Not sure how you ‘lead the world’ on these matters, if you can offer any insight on why you would think this this that would be very interesting.

Biggest economy in th eworld, strongest military in the world, most significant inventions and innovations, most influential cultural. I don’t see how you can possibly dispute these things. The only reason things are changing around the world is because other countries are emulating us.

The certainly did repress free trade. They shot holes in ships that tried to trade freely. I am not sure how much more repressive you can be.

Last year in humanities our teacher talked about how the only other civilization to ever control the globe like the United States are doing right now were the Romans. So unless you got a Ph.D. in this subject I’m not falling for your America being worse than Britain rant.

The US is very far ahead technology wise. The US Navy has force projection via carrier groups that even the USSR never had.

The US is considered the lone superpower in the world.

I do not wish to dispute these points, just interested if you could back up your statments with a bit more solid information, I am not saying you are wrong.

Britain did not repress free trade suring the industrial revolution it created mass global trade at the time.

The certainly did repress free trade. They shot holes in ships that tried to trade freely. I am not sure how much more repressive you can be.[/quote]

They may have shot a few pirates who didn’t

US has the largest economy by far and some of the highest earning and home ownership figures granted, but the dollar is falling rapidly

Strongest military? Perhaps, certainly not the largest in the world, but this strong army of America does not seem to function to its potential, for example a dismal campain in Vietnam, and a current faltering campain in the middle east, big army lots of nice shiny new toys but not really being used very well to be honest.

It would be a very long discussion to merit the most significant scientific inventions and inovations made in the last 100 years by a single country to save a pointless debate ill give it to you.

America and culture? not two words you see going together very often unless the sentence includes the words ‘gun’ or 'obesity, you do have two of the largest film making indutries in the world and the US does create many of the worlds highest earning musical artists. The US does export more TV film and music than any other country so if you wish to class this as cutural influence then I suppose you are correct.

The US is a major world power, currently the most powerfull nation in the world, but my point was that relative to the time the Us is not as globally powerfull as the nations I mentioned, it is however an ironic point that going so far back those nations and civilisations were not capable of global travel, but compared to the countries that were in exsistance in that particular time the ones I metioned were sumpremly more powerful.

It’s sing along time.

"why’s everybody always pickin on me…

Cause you run like a girl and you sit down to pee."

Some people just don’t like other people. Not just in the gym or in America, but everywhere.

It’s like an inside joke that everybody is in on.

to the OP sorry for hijacking your thread just wanted to amke a point about the other guys stinky attitude, I think you may be a little paranoid, also if you are getting funny looks that is because you are a big guy going into these places showing these other guys up they think they are the dogs bollox becuase they read muscle monthly and use the abs machine, you have gone in done the business and made them look like muppets

, if you came to my gym you would be very welcomed and respected for knowing your stuff, maybe you should seek out more spit and sawdust gyms rather than what sound like poncey health clubs.

It does not sound like people are 'picking on you". Maybe you look like an asshole. I have friends that when I first met them I wanted to punch them in the faces because he just looked like an asshole.

Not sure what draws you to that conclusion

Britain once controlled 90% of global trade
the US has never achieved this level
Britain was more of a global superpower during the industrial revolution that Americ is global superpower today

There are no variables to take into account just simple percentile comparisons of simple statistics from both time periods.

OP maybe they all think your an arrogant ass because you corrected a guy who tried to give you advice.

when some one tries to help you, and then you tell them, “no no no your wrong” its kind of rude. it doesnt matter if they are right or wrong. all that matters is that you be respectfull and say thank you. you dont have to follow the advice, just dont correct them. so many times people have told me bla bla bla, and i just say “thanks man, know what you mean” and then i get on with my training. maybe il even give an excuse why i have to do it my way to appear less rude. the result is that those guys are still friendly with me every time i train there.

its like when some one offers you a drink, and you say “no man, thats disgusting i hate that shit”

its just rude.

maybe your used to being direct and telling people what you do and how you do it or whatever. but when your in europe, people are different and tend to talk to each other differently. its nothing to do with you being a super stud american. no one give a shit if your american.

especially ireland. lol if some one told you some advice in a porper irish gym, and you said “no man, bla bla bla” it doesnt matter how nice you say it, its still rude.

that would even piss me off.

its like a nice way of saying " fuck off, mind your bussiness"

just nod your head and ignore if you have to. never correct them.

now go make some friends

Wow, you just made me very, very proud to be an american. When I feel like cutting my balls off and becoming more like you, a fuckin pansy who wants to conform to what everyone tells him- just to be “polite”, I’ll let you know.

By the way, I lived in Cork, Ireland for 6 months about 2 years ago, and you’re first irishman I’ve met with a pussy. Congratulations

sorry, was I being “rude”?

And the US dominance of space (global satellites) ensures continued military superiority.

Maybe he has a mullet, zubaz pants, a Chevy bow tie tattoo, a Camaro and a dog-food bag of weight gainer that he keeps in the trunk. Possibly even a “truck balls” trailer hitch on his Camaro.

You just described almost every male in my hometown.

OP, clearly the problem is you haven’t ass raped anybody yet. A gym is like prison, you need to go in, state your business, and take charge.

Variables are what make up the statistics that give a percentile. Each individual variable plays a role and carries a certain weight in an equation. The weight of variables in an equation giving an answer such as yours are more than likely up for major debate.

You can’t even show one source backing your claim and I’m calling bs.

When you make a statement, the burden of proof is on you. You claim Britain controlled 90% of the worlds trade during the industrial revolution.

Show your sources.

In the mean time, please tell me how often you and your buddies wear blue jeans, how many McDonalds and Starbucks you pass in your day to day activities, how widespread Coca Cola, Pepsi and other American products are in Europe, where all the best movies come from (modern day theater) who inspires or produces the TV shows you watch (a window in to culture) and also describe what Europe would look like if America never butted in on the world wars.

I think you’d be speaking german while enjoying american products and culture wrapped in to a european shell.

When I was in Paris in '02 all the Men were nasty little cunts, but the women were all very friendly.

My theory about the French is that generations of their men have been exterminated since Napoleon, and they are simply running out of good Y chromosomes.
