Who Should Be The Next James Bond?

I actually think Sam Neill is the best available choice.

I can’t really see Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, and Adrian Paul as Bond. I think all three of them would make great spies in other movies, though.

George Clooney…

That guy lives like Bond to begin with, as did Brosnan. You need a guy with that kind of sophistication to play the part. Bana is a good actor, I like his stuff. But I see him more as a Delta Force Warrior rather than a superspy.

Billy Zane?

Seriously? The homosexual thespian from Tombstone?

No way dude, no freaking way.

That is all

Clive Owen was badass in Croupier.

Tony Danza

AO, OA

I think I would be a good James Bond…watch…“Bond…James Bond” Cue music…da da da da…

See!

Sam Neill is an interesting choice but he’s not quite Bond. He’s more of a brainy type rather than a lady’s man. He would make a good M.

Hugh Jackman would be good. Absolutely NOT Hugh Grant - he’s a pretty boy who stars in chick flicks. He’s no Bond.

BTW - I think John Cleese is the perfect replacement for Q.

Okay, and now for the weird and wacky choice - Ahnuld as Bond. Just assume he was recruited from the Austrian intelligence service or something.

Not Zeb.

Connery was the best Bond but he’s too old. Although it would be funny to see him in “Bond, the Golden Years.”

Scene: A nursing home in England:

BOND: “I like my Metamucil shaken, not stirred!”

BTW - I want to be Q.

I think Sam Neill or Hugh Jackman are the only choices. Either would be better than Timothy Dalton, remember him? By the way, Peirce Brosnan and Colin Farell aren’t British, they are Irish. So why not an Aussie?

Sam Neill has two things going for him that Hugh Jackman doesn’t.

First, and most importantly, he’s got the age. Let’s not forget that Bond is supposedly well over sixty. While we’re probably not going to have some seventy year old play Bond (unless we go back to Roger Moore), it would be pretty weird to use a guy in his mid-thirties.

Second, Neill was “Reilly: Ace of Spies”. Jackman hasn’t really been in this sort of role before, so he’s not a proven quantity. The closest he got was his role in “Swordfish”.

But we could always try for Patrick MacNee.

Mike!

Come on I would make a great Bond!

Cue the Bond music-A helicopter is taking off in the distance. You see agent Bond hanging on the bottom part perhaps doing some chins- He then climbs into the cockpit subdues the bad guys and lands the chopper.

Seeeeeeee…

“Bond…Zeb Bond”

Whoever is the next Bond, I’d like to see him slightly beefier, not all roided-out, but definitely a bit more athletic.

I’m telling you all again…

Clooney, Dammit.

I think everyone is hung up on an authentic accent being necessary. Not so.

You need a gentleman playboy to play the role, not the Jurasic Park guy.

Yeah man… Sean Connery in … GOLD BOND!!!

I still vote for me though, nobody would suspect the short guy in the disco suit… nobody.

I dunno ShortDave, maybe you would be better cast as the next Austin Powers.

Chick: “So what are we gonna do now?”

ShortDave Powers: (cheesy grin) “I know, baby – let’s shag!”

See what I mean? Actually, that kinda sounds like something I would say, too.

Hrm. You know, I’d never really considered Zane. . .

But you’re right. I think he could probably pull it off, and make a pretty damn good Bond. He can do the dashing upper class thing, but he’s also fairly athletic (he worked out a lot for, and actually did all his own stunts in, The Phantom).
