Grandfather, father & son all throw out their backs trying to lift a TV that is bolted down in order to one up Jerry. Just knew it was coming and laughed anyway…

I think that is one of the reasons I think it is the funniest show on TV. There are so many situations that are predictable once you get to know the characters, but it is still funny and you still laugh.
Never could get through an episode…I find Jerry Seinfeld to be exceedingly annoying and that keeps me from ever getting into the show, though I can see where George would be hilarious. Humor is definitely in the eye of the beholder, though; I loved Arrested Development, but some people just can’t get into that one either.
Oh, and I don’t think I could get sick of fart jokes or low-brow humor. I imagine at the age of 70 I will still crack up if someone farts in a quiet room.

Fireman: “how do you live with yourself?”
George: “It’s not easy”.
If you like George please tell me you’ve seen Curb Your Enthusiasm.
They are both equally funny but for different reasons.
Funniest show of all time. Close second is Curb your enthusiasm. Larry David is a comedy genius, the storylines this guy thinks of are amazing. Plus who can’t laugh at Kramer doing ANYTHING

Seinfield is unconventional.
Kramer is not funny though in alot of the episodes. I find George to be the funniest. He’s so sinister and pathetic, and the funny part is that he knows it. Like when there is a fire and he starts pushing people out of the way so he can get away. Or when he pretends to be a marine bioligist to impress that girl. George makes the show.We should turn this into a “Why is Seinfeld an awesome show” thread.
And george is of course based on larry david. And larry davids show Curb Your Enthusiam is also hilarious.

Can you guys stop ruining threads? OK thanks.
Back to Seinfeld - I seriously don’t get how many people don’t like the show in this thread. Did you give it a chance? Granted there are many episodes where you may not laugh at all, but there are some golden scenes out there, golden Jerry!!!
I agree with you PB. I’ve always been a fan.
But trying to convince someone to actually watch and eventually LIKE the show would be like someone trying to convince me that “Friends” is a great show. I just don’t get it, and I assume there are those who don’t get Seinfeld.
Exactly!
Friends is such a horrible show. I’d rather watch it than Married with children though. Only bright side is, Jennifer Aniston is hot as fuck!
I cant defend friends being a good show but it makes me laugh and I go out of my way to watch it. Its like a warm blanket. So soothing, so just the right amount of mildly funny.
Wait what the hell? How did I become the OP of this thread?

I used to think Jerry Seinfeld was the genius behind the show… until I started watching “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and realized it was really Larry David. I also realized George was based on Larry.

It is kinda unfair to compare the 2 shows though - you can pretty much do whatever you want on HBO. But I agree that Curb is way better than Seinfeld, I just started watching it last year and I had to go back and get all the seasons and I think it may be one of the best shows ever (although nothing and I mean nothing is better than It’s Always Sunny in Philly).

lol, this reminds me of something. I was on Larry David’s fan site and that is one of his favorite shows apparently. The funny thing is, I really didn’t think Arrested Development was that funny, but the creator of my two favorite comedy shows does.

Yes. Yes. Yes. And yes.

I think in the history of TV there are some classic, unforgettable comedy shows.
I list “All in the Family”, “Newhart”, “Cheers”, “Seinfeld”, “The Simpsons” and my most recent one is “30 Rock”
I’ve heard good things about “Frasier” but never got around to seeing an episode.
All of these were awesome shows. Cheers was my all time favorite sitcom.
arrested development is awesome ![]()
other good shows are: blackadder, alan partridge, curb, the office( both uk and us ), ut i vaar hage( a norwegian show ), king of queens. offcourse there are others, but this are one of the best.

Special honors yo!
His voice gets on my nerves.
The show is about nothing.
Everyone is idiotic and boring.
I hate his voice.
What the fuck is the show about.
And oh yeah, Seinfelds voice kills my ears.
Seinfeld sounds like a whiney bitch.
I can’t stand whiney bitches.
My friend know’s I despise that fucker, so he imitates him to irritate the shit out of me.
Damn Seinfeld.
