God is not subject to such personal opinions. God is universal and absolute.
God has spoken to me on 3 occasions, clearly and distinctly. Its one of the reasons I left the NSA and went into teaching (they also were brutalizing American citizens to which I strongly objected).

My point would be nature vs nurture, depending on where you are from on this globe you may have a different belief system. So God may be universal but the images of him vary greatly and that seems to be the main issue.
