You wouldn’t last in my part of the state - life is much harder, and tolerance for chicken shits is much lower than in suburban Houston. That is a statment of fact. No death threats.
Whoa. Whoa.
You do realize that close to 6 million people live in the Houston metropolitan area, don’t you? You also realize that with such a large area, there are good and bad parts, right?
I, for one, grew up “right across the train tracks” from a very bad area. I also have spent a large amount of time all over Texas. I think your logic is backwards in this statement. If I chose to run my mouth anywhere, I for damn sure wouldn’t do that in some of the places in “Suburban Houston”.
The sparsely populated areas of Texas I have visited have been much much more peaceful than the urban/suburban areas of Houston.
Speaking of train tracks, this thread has completely gone off the tracks.
The best post on it so far was:
Boobs?
Texass has never even seen a train track. I know there are tough parts in Houston. Texass is not from there. He doesn’t hang out in those parts of town. He never leaves the safety of his keyboard if he is going to act tough.
You will have to define tougher. I never said it was tougher. I said life was much harder. There are not that many McJobs out here.
Unless you have lived in both places it is hard to explain the difference between harder and tougher.
But suffice it to say that texass has no fucking clue about tough, or hard. You can’t when mommy and daddy are paying for everything.

HAHAHA! I really have you upset don’t I? And so many assumptions!
Actually the suburb I grew up in was a quintessential development area in what used to be an old town and I fell asleep listening to a train rumble through although it was far enough to be a pleasant noise rather than an annoying one. Kudos for me for having good experiences. You can dog it all you want but it was very enjoyable.
And no, I’m not from the “tough” areas of Houston you are correct, if you measure “tough” by economically disadvantged. I did play on many state ranked athletic teams though and we often rolled through the “tough kids” in an athletic arena. I’d dare say I’m better with a gun than most gangsters too, but have no desire to kill anyone with mine. If that makes me weak, so be it.
And just for your information because I know you are making blind assumptions out of ignorance, most nice neighborhoods are directly across the street or literal train tracks from bad ones in Houston as there are no zoning laws like Chewie has mentioned. Money in a city is a little different than money in the country. Suburbs can appear exclusive, and ownership is, but the greater area certainly is not.
River Oaks, where you will find George Bush Sr.'s home is right across the highway from the largest african american ghetto in the biggest city of the state. On the same side of the highway but across the street you will find a neighborhood full of apts renting anywhere from 500 mthly (a gold mine where you are from I know, but very cheap in an urban setting) to million dollar homes right next door housing doctors and lawyers. It is a really cool city with an odd culture through a lack of zoning that often results in economic tension.
My area was the same. I did live in a suburban sprawl but across the street you would find neighborhood after neighborhood of illegal mexicans with nothing to lose. I got in plenty of fights as did my buddies with them when we were not busy running over them on the football field or on a wrestling mat.
I remember we used to have a certain place out of the town a little ways that we would all meet to basically fight in a field in order to avenge either one of our or their freinds getting jumped at a late night taco bell run or some shit. Almost like gangs. We just showed up in nicer cars.
And we went home after a “jolly good roust” to comfort and keg parties with lively conversations of Sean’s black eye and Stevens sore ribs while they got even angrier about their situation, sort of like you.
People from Houston, suburbs or inner city would have no problems living in rural areas. Like Chewie, I see your logic as backwards. Regardless of what area of a city you grow up in you do learn a certain level of street smarts. Especially when you are the type to be targeted by the economically challenged when they want a step up in the world.
What I’ve observed about small town people is that they have a “linebacker” mentality. If they are the biggest fish in their small pond, nobody challenges them and they think they are tough shit.
If they brought that attitude to a city, they’d be challenged just for the attitude and would either be beaten retarded or shot.
Anyways, the real issue still seems to be that you are jealous I was born with a better plot in life than you and you try to belittle me to make your own ego feel better.
Well poodle nuts, I was born with more advantages than you, small town hillbillies don’t intimidate me at all and if we were talking in person I’d still make fun of you. It would be even easier probably by taking body language in to account.
