So using salt (iodized salt) on food, and a multivitamin containging iodine and selenium could actually hurt my thyroid? I’m rather confused now, thought the salt would help my thyroid
That’s not the same thing, it’s normal to have salt and iodine in your food but it is not normal to take iodine directly because nobody would take iodine in this way.
He would advocate people to start “iodine replenishment”. Some users in past threads followed his advice and took large amounts of iodine and ended up with swollen thyroids. Permanent damage per the poster.
When I first started my TRT journey, I had asked my Endo about the Iodine issue. She looked at me like I was crazy. She said everything has iodine in it, an she has patients who have to follow a strict diet, NOT to get it. That’s just what she said though, what does she know, she’s only an endocrinologist.
Oh god i took 25mg iodine for a month because of Ksman. Hope i didn’t mess up my thyroid. Blood test showed thyroid levels were same as pre IR but TSH was elevated as expected. How do i tell if messed it up? And after IR , how long should i wait until another blood test?
Not my arena bro.
These people were talking about enlarged thyroids.
Where did he get the estradiol value of 22? As I’ve stated god knows how many times, several people I know and I are fine with being at 50 or below. We’ve never taken an AI.
His info on HCG was off too, I believe. Actually many people spread bad info about it. I needed 3000 IU per week to have my two children and some men do fine on HCG monotherapy at 9000 per week.
However I know I’m not the best guy to talk to about TRT online because as understanding and sensitive as I am I cannot help but think many on “TRT” shouldn’t be on it or at least not call it that and if the others on TRT are hypochondriacs.
Had you already been on TRT, then added HCG for fertility? Asking because i have been T mono, and might want to try for another kid eventually.
Yes, I was on TRT for nearly twelve years when I started to take HCG. I took T for 100 mg per week and HCG 1000 IU three times per week. Now I have been on both for about four years. Right now I am on T and HCG at 500 IU twice per week for maintenance. I might need more again if we decide to have a third kid.
So were you T only for 12 years? and able to bring back fertility with just HCG while still using Test? If so that’s great news for me, and I know its not always the same outcome for everyone, but that would be great! I kept thinking I was going to have to stop taking Test.
Yes, about twelve years with just TRT. Then I we tried HCG monotherapy at 3000 IU three times per week but I soon felt pretty lousy on it because it did not bring my T value above the 300’s. So he put me on TRT with HCG. So no, you don’t have to stop taking T.
I have not experienced a single bad side effect from HCG. However, I have not had testicular atrophy from hypogonadism and TRT use reversed at all, not that I mind anyway considering that atrophy doesn’t effect my wellbeing or functioning. I know some guys are mentally cooped up with that issue.
Well I apparently missed a lot of this stuff with KSMan. I thought because of the stickies he was a revered member who had just fallen off for one reason or other. He did seem to have a lot of answers in the archives in threads I was searching. Shitty to find out now that a lot of the advice was questionable and/or plain dangerous and wrong.
This guy has posted a lot of good stuff and its obvious he has deep knowledge, but his stance on the AI is absurd.
Ironically THIS is why KSMan left.
Thanks for your insight sir.
I believe there’s no magic number for T either.
