I got a job at 17 in an iron foundry making parts for cars and decided I wanted to do that (engineering). while getting my masters i taught a lot of labs and realized I am a lot better at teaching / getting freshman actively involved in their education then the profs who are 70 years old and remember slide rules so I changed direction and decided I wanted to be an intro to engineering / foundry professor…
