What Vitamin Supplements Are "Really" Vital?

I think this is it. I figured they would be deleted by now

Chris Colluci hid the main thread afterwards.

Makes sense. Hopefully no one got hurt

Hi, did u really think that the food give all of the nutriment that we need actually ? a lot of study and good french autor (jean seignalet) talk about the “value” of food. Today, the food is not like before, the earth also, even for “organic food”

so i really think about vitamine k, zinc magniesum, and D maybe omega 3, we can’t eat so much fish because of the heavy metal, so if i want to take, i need before to make a blood test ? or i can take the “minimal dose”

whatever, if i can’t take some vitamin, i will just choice creatine/glycine/collagen

thank

Great info. Was starting to deal with some neuropathy issues and couldn’t figure out why. Damn Bang energy drinks!

How much vitamin D do you take and how much Vitamin K do you take? Is there anything one needs to be vary of with Vitamin K? I. e., like with curcumin you want peperine, and with magnesium you generally don’t want oxide but rather taurate, glycinate, theorate, or citrate depending on when one takes it…
I presume you take vitamin K separate from D so the pair doesn’t bind while digesting?

Usually I take 2500 IU (62,5mcg) of D vitamin and 1000 mcg of vitamin K. There are no real rules, I’ve just looked at the ratio of the recommended daily dosage for each vitamin and starting with the dosage that I wanted to use for D vitamin (that I find is right for me) I’ve adjusted the K vitamin dosage to stick to the ratio. In my country the D:K ratio I estimated was 1:14 (in mcg), but recommendation for other countries vary a lot, for example using these resources

the ratio should be 1:8 (in mcg). It’s just an approximation. I’m not aware of competitive absorption between K and D vitamin, just that they works in tandem and that K vitamin is protective against D vitamin potential side effects. The only side I know for K vitamin is that it can interferes with anticoagulants.

PS: about curcumin and piperine, I avoid using piperine because as I remember it can damage gut in the long term and there are other formulations that give elevated absorption.
