What Scares You?

Yeah that is kinda fucked up,

I still get the willies anytime I walk up stairs out of a basement or something like that and the lights are off behind me, I allways look behind me when i get to the top.

For sure. Running through the woods in the dark I ALWAYS feel like I’m being chased.

Crawling down tight tunnels where it’s impossible to turn around or go backwards. For example like those chicks in the movies “The Descent”. That’s like the scariest shit to me. I needed to walk it off

Other peculiar things which occasionally pop up is sometimes when you wake up at night to go to the toilet and are fumbling around to find the light switch, getting this irrational feeling that you will find some big, nasty hairy hand already on the switch lol. Another variation of this is as you’re wlking in the dark you bump into the owner of this hand.

At my previous house there was a flight of stairs between my bedroom and the toilet. I would always walk past it really quickly, scared to look down, feeling there’s something down there just waiting to make eye contact

along those lines… whenever I flush the toilet, turn on the water faucet in the shower or turn on the vacuum cleaner and it makes that loud “screaming” noise, I always cringe because I envision this maniacal humanoid creature with large fangs running to attack me, making a similar screaming noise, its eyes bulging and its arms flailing in the air trying to grab me.

Oompa-loompas
Willy Wonka and the Magic Chocolate Factory really freaked me out as a kid.

My wife still sings the Oompa-loompa song every now and again, just to freak me out. She then giggles like a sissy.

Death scares me. Cuz ya know, we’re all gonna be dead FOR A VERY LONG TIME.

They are awesome though…

Bats on the other hand are terrifying evil little fuckers.

Things that go bump in the night (and rapists)

The end of “The Mist.”[/quote]

I think I would explode from the enormity of my misery.

I once dreamed that I left my newborn daughters window open and she froze to death overnight. My alrm woke me up during the dream and I just got ready for work and left without checking on her. I left my wife to find out what happened. I am chicken personified.

Marsupials scare me.

I have a fear of dehydration. I some times think about it when I see movies about people stranded in the desert or at sea. Imagine if you last thought was “If I only had some water…” (death rattle).

Also one thing that really freaks me out lately is the thought of space and eternity. A friend of mine and I were talking about space and “The pale blue dot” (I think Nate Green talks about it in his blog). Then he said “What if space just never ends?”. It has stuck with me ever sense. I know its just a simple phrase but the more you think about it the scarier it gets. Infinite space with even more infinite possibilities. The idea of being able to travel in one direction until the end of time and never see the same thing twice freaks me the fuck out. If i think about it too long I just have to shake it off and think about something else before I go bat shit crazy.

P.s. Im with you guys on walking around the house in the dark too. I always look behind me.

In terms of horror movies and stories, what really scares me is stuff that could actually happen. Crazy monsters and shit I don’t really find scary, sure it will make you jump, but after the scene is over, I’m not scared anymore.

Movies that are about either true events, or are realistic fiction scare the shit out of me. One movie, that I thought had amazing potential to freak me out was “When A Stranger Calls.” The movie itself really sucked, but the idea of someone hiding in your house, and essentially hunting you, freaked me out.

and ghost.

Aside from the obvious like suffocation or drowning:

  1. Sticky things on my skin. It’s really just an extreme dislike, but I mean extreme: to the point that if something gets on me other than water and I can’t IMMEDIATELY wash it off, I almost go into a panic attack. For real. Really Weird. I’ve been working on getting over it though with some success. Hell for me would be sticky shit being all over me and no shower (well not shit but you get the idea… err sticky shit would actually be much worse).

  2. Also I have had a recurring dream my whole life about being robbed at my house, and I just freeze up. I guess this sort of qualifies. It’s funny that this terrifies me because of the fact that the burglars are usually outside and making their getaway with my shit. The thing that freaks me out about it is that I’m physically frozen and can’t yell. I try to yell in my sleep but can’t… I probably make some retarded grubling sounds but I can’t form words. It makes me sweat thinking about it.

  3. Aliens. Mother fucking aliens (not literally the “mother fucking” variety, just any old plain scary ass alien). I’m only afraid of them if I’m stoned and happen to be in the woods at night, which doesn’t happen very often so I don’t really usually count this as a fear of mine…

About space, Space is enough to put a sane man in a ward.Chew on this for a minute, the other day im watching the History channel and this scientist is talking about finding space dust in ice at the poles. Now this confused him because there shouldnt be any space dust on earth because of the magnetic field and such.

Then he goes into talking about the Heliosphere, the Heliosphere is like this bubble we are in inside of space. So we are in this heliosphere which is also floating around in space protecting us from solar winds and radiation. This blows my mind.

Also the idea that we can only see the part of the universe that has been lit up, so if your afraid of whats in youre closet or bathroom, think about the fact that infinite space is out there and still in the dark.

^ On par with being alone in the desert/forest at night, camping when there is no moon, and you run out of fire wood and all you have is your cell phone to illuminate your way, all the while you stoned and paranoid out of your mind because you think there is something out there watching you; something you can’t even imagine, and you can only see into the darkness as far as your cell phone illuminates… and it turned out that there was something watching you, and it approaches you slowly and all you can do is freeze out of fear and it turns out to be like 6 or 7 white aliens with big black eyes and they got all in your face and make crazy shrieking noises and all you could do is freeze and you could barely move. And to make matters worse, they could very well take you into space to explore God knows what…

  1. Somebody messing with my family and not being able to do anything about it. This terrifies me to no end.

  2. Mediocrity

the jews… wait, what?

waking up and she is still there.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Words to live by when thinking of the scary
