What is America's War on Drugs Costing?

The only way I can think of getting pure cocaine in the states is to know medical personal with access to it. It’s used as eye anesthetic.

I could never do cocaine. It’s because the two people that offered it to me were unhealthily skinny with huge dark circles around there eyes and talking to me about how they deviated their septums. Probably for the better.

If the DEA claims that a street level pusher sells pure cocaine, they’re full of shit.
Where did they claim that?
How else should I construe this?
That if they get their hands on cocaine they determine how pure it is and what the real deal would cost.
The DEA has no stake in maintaining the ‘war on drugs’, and they are too righteous to massage the numbers. Got it, thanks.

What?

They are giving you data demonstrating that they have failed for 30 years.

Failed with intent, sure.

To clarify: the ‘war on drugs’ wasn’t started to be won. This war must continue as it sprouted an entire industry around it.

^Possibly. I would imagine that a guy who sells MJ is probably selling other shit too, even if it’s local. If I were a drug dealer selling MJ for relatively cheap, I might as well sell cocaine at premium prices. I’m already breaking the law, so why not?
You have NO idea what you’re talking about. Weed dealers by far ONLY sell weed (sometimes prescription pills). Coke dealers have a very different clientele. I’m not saying it never happens, but it would be a LOT of extra work and risk to meet, screen, develop security and connections for two way different circles of people (MJ and Cocain).

For the record I have NOT sold/used any illegal drugs for years.

I know people who deal pot and have dealt pot in the past, none of sell anything else regularly. On occasion they’ll get a hold of Mushrooms or hash and sell a small batch.

Some of you may have the image of a Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas briefcase type supplier, that’s not the case.

Anyone who doesn’t see the correlation between the current war on drugs and Prohibition is blind. History doesn’t lie, it only repeats itself. Prohibition CREATED organized crime, much like the war on drugs has CREATED a bunch of violent international cartels. It’s human nature - we want what we cannot have.

If we legalized drugs and taxed their manufacture, distribution and sale we would save BILLIONS of dollars that are currently being spent pursuing, enforcing and punishing this nonsensical ‘war’ as well as collecting BILLIONS of dollars in tax revenue.

The only logical thing to do is legalize it. But partisan politics is NEVER logical and the industry that currently profits from the violence will never tolerate it’s legalization.

Pot MAY one day be legalized, but barring a major upset to the current way of doing things, nothing else will.

When my generation (32) populates AARP, then it will more than likely be its best shot at being legal.

Yeah, I second fhe fact that pot dealers usually only sell weed nowadays. People who smoke and sell weed almost sound like hippocrits when they say grugs are bad. But they just sell weed so who cares. Where I come from, i seems like nonody really cares about pot, but if you mention other drugs, people freak out like they should. I used to mess with hard drugs, and hard drug users dont usually smoke weed becuase it doesnt do the job, and if they do smoe weed, its tht lowgrade mexican crap. They also sell heroin, coke, pills, etc.

I smoke weed and dont even know anyone anymore who uses or sells hard drugs. Completely different crowd.
