What Do You LOVE About America?

What do I love about America? We can make fun of the President’s ears, or call Bush a retard, or somebody can have their opinion slapped on their truck or Prius.

I hear people complain, then I hear them laughing about something else a second later.

So there are problems, and issues, and things going on with the Government (govuhment) that I dislike, yet I am fairly certain that everyone is annoyed with something the Government does.

But in the end, we live our lives, and do what we want.

I had to leave my car overnight to get fixed, and rode my bike to get it today. Nice enjoyable ride. Passed by a park, with a little lake. Saw people outside enjoying themselves.

Took some side roads, and saw some kids playing outside their house, just enjoying the day.

Finally got off my bike after an enjoyable ride, and picked up my car. The guy behind the counter greeted me with a big grin, and was very pleasant. (Maybe he was happy he screwed me over and I really didn’t actually need those bearings.)

We have a few annoyances here and there, but really life is not bad here. I know everybody watches the news, and sees how terrible things are. But I remember being young, poor, unemployed. I also remember spending that time with my Daughter, maybe going to a playground, or our family would have a picnic at the park. (Very cheap way to spend the day.)

I have known real poor people, and I have known a few wealthy people. They would all sit around, talk about things, and laugh.

This Saturday I am watching my 17 month old Grandson for a couple hours. He is an absolute joy to be around. When he sees me he yells “Gampah!”

Don’t know about anyone else, but I am enjoying life. Regardless of what happens in Washington.

Sure I will be voting, then on election day, (night really,)I will either be cheering, or booing. And then I will be again living my life, and enjoying it.

There is a lot wrong in America, and the World. But let’s not spend so much time finding what is bad that we don’t notice all the good out there.

American people are probably the friendliest and most welcoming people generally I have met. Apart from maybe Kiwis

I did. It was mostly some guy ranting about somebody who doesn’t think the way he does and criticizing him for it, and claiming he doesn’t love America. People do this all the time, liberals AND conservatives, but this ability to have different views and beliefs is one of the things that makes America great.

There are fat mujahadden in Afganistan. There are fat Nigerians. Europe is getting way fat.

Yes, but there are more fat Americans than Chinese, Koreans, Russians, etc. I was struck by the number of hot women in Romania, for example, until I realized that America would have about the same amount if half of them weren’t disgustingly overweight.

I love how America has the largest percentage of its population behind bars.

I love how the majority of Americans spend their “free time” glued to the TV.

I love how in America you can graduate High School just by being white and showing up.

I love that in America You’re free to complain and protest as much as you want, as long as you don’t actually expect to change anything, you do it where most people can’t hear you do it, and the authorities allow you to do it.

I love that in America you can break any law you want, provided you have enough money to pay for it.

I love how in America you become a Felon for possessing drugs, you have to pay for this offense with money or time in jail, and then no one will hire you because of said felony which makes it more difficult to pay off the fines and leads to more jail time and even greater difficulty finding work, which can lead to actual crimes like stealing because you can’t make an honest living and pay off the fines.

I love how the American prison system puts people in jail to create criminals to fill its prisons.

I love that America puts fluoride in its tap water and allows BPA in its bottled water.

I love how American women speak only in thoughts or sentences they’ve heard on TV, in magazines, or from mass media in general.

I really love how I’m allowed to type this shit on the interweb in America but am too Apathetic to do anything productive about it except lift weights.
