What’s wrong with pop tarts and chocolate milk? Figured that’s some carbs, sugar, and like 20 grams of protein nice and quick before I even get home…and no, I’m not kidding.

Berardi’s actually mentioned chocolate milk post work out is a pretty decent choice.

I know I read some stuff about a study at Indiana University that said chocolate milk is the thing to drink after exercise. Of course they warn about carbs and stuff (for those folks that are afraid to gain a little weight), but I’m eating like 3900-4100 calories a day and trying to gain weight.
It’s not like I go workout, eat a few pop tarts, drink some chocolate milk then go to bed…I thought we were talking about what you eat directly after you workout…not what you would eat for a meal an hour later.
I went to wendy’s after my workout last night (there’s a wendy’s across the steet from my gym)…got the triple cheese burger, humungo fries, and a small frosty…ate this on my drive home…then I ate a steak, two muffins, a salad, and water right after I got home…
then my wife commented that my back is getting huge…does life get any better?
I went to the star baby(China Star) after my bad ass back workout today - freakin insane pumps. Anywho 4plates of sesami chicken rice and other stuff. God damn I love bulking <3
Mine was morning but i dont think of food as morning night etc. Heck ill have bacon and eggs at night as much as I would stir fry and rice for breakfast. What sounds good and fill the need of the time.
I feel the same about food, it doesnt matter what time of day it is, I eat whatever is appropriate.
I have about 30 - 40 mins from when I finish training in the morning to when I can eat a solid meal, which is too long for me, so I have a P+C Shake immediately after training (60g Pro + 100g Carb) and than an hour after that is my first real meal of the day which is usually some combintation of meat, vegies and rice done with some bizarre flavourings in the slow cooker.[/quote]
You guys are right. I should probably get out of that mindset and suck it up. Though Dezz posted a good morning one - except for that yogurt (no dairy for me).
My post workout meal and cheat meal fell at the same time tonight. I started with my last serving of Surge (GET THAT SHIT BACK Biotest!), followed by a piece of gormet pizza, and now I’m about to shovel down some chicken curry. Mmmmmmmmm.

Immediately after training I always have my Pro/Carbs/Creatine PWO shake. Then an hour later I have a half-cup couscous (pre-cooked measurement) and some chicken. I just throw a bunch of other random shit on it to give it taste - pasta sauce, cheese, oil & vinegar, whatever I feel like at the moment - and it always comes out to around 700 calories.
