Welcome Back Carter

This man ought to be ashamed of himself. Listen, think whatever you want of minister Jones, he certainly doesn’t sound like my sort of guy. But to suggest the following…What if some ‘Christian’ had assassinated Hitchens, instead of cancer taking his life? Would he suggest Hitchens’ promoters be viewed as accessories? It’d be ludicrous. Or, Dawkins? Not in a million years would I want the man harmed because of what he says, writes, and thinks. And it wouldn’t somehow be his fault, or the fault of those promoting him, if some ‘Christian’ decided to play God’s little hit-man. Absolutely disgusting…

Mike Barnicle Suggests Prosecuting Pastor Terry Jones In American Ambassador’s Death

MIKE BARNICLE: Given this supposed minister’s role in last year’s riots in Afghanistan, where people died, and given his apparent or his alleged role in this film, where, not yet nailed down, but at least one American, perhaps the American ambassador is dead, it might be time for the Department of Justice to start viewing his role as an accessory before or after the fact.

DONNY DEUTSCH: I was thinking the same thing, yeah.

I wonder if the Libya incident would have happened had Obama come out strongly against the embassy incident in Egypt? These are just some of the things that can happen when you have a President that leads from behind.

Yes, it would’ve. There is nothing Obama could have said. In the following days security arrangements MIGHT be debated, but no statement by Obama could’ve prevented this.

So if I understand this correctly, both attacks in Egypt and Libya were a response from Muslims in protest of a film that portrayed them as a religion of violence. I wonder where anyone would get that idea. Do the Muslims in these countries not see that they only damage their image further?

Perhaps, but I do think that a strong President deters this type of thing. History tells us that the Iranians didn’t want any part of Reagan and released the hostages as soon as he was sworn in as our 40th President. This after Jimmy Carter tried for 444 days to get them released.

Granted this is a different situation but I believe the image of Obama bowing to Arab leaders doesn’t exactly paint a picture of a strong US President.

Sure it could have happened anyway but…

Here is some basic “living in the ME 101.”

All ME countries, less Israel, are hyper-masculine, a bit like a prison.

There is a pecking order, just like a dog pack. If there is not a strong alpha dog keeping the betas in line, all hell breaks lose as people try to become alpha dog.

If the alpha dog is weak, the betas will challenge constantly. If the alpha dog is strong, the beta will test periodically to see if he is weak, but will back off if they get the appropriate growl.

Being “nice” and all that crap is just, well, signs of someone about to become a bitch.

A great alpha dog will have some strong, but not too strong, betas, who beat the shit out of the gamma dogs periodically. The alpha lets the betas eat with it. The Shah of Iran, back in the day was a great beta. The last leadership of Eqypt was a great beta.

Bluntly, Obama is referred to in the ME, as a “bitch.” Literally. That is the word used.

He is not respected. He is seen as weak. As a result the pack is fighting.

Now, I know this “dog pack” idea is repugnant to Western sensibilities, including mine. But I’ve lived there and traveled there extensively. Their culture is not our culture.

The USA, the West, Israel, etc. will NEVER be loved in the ME. It’s stupid to try.

You will either be alpha, beta, gamma, or someone’s bitch.

Great post.
Too many people think that everyone else sees the world the same way they do.

And this is why we need another Texan in the whitehouse. We “get” it.

Eisenhower, Johnson and the Bush’s as honorary Texans for example.

The Lense Principle.

Unfortunately in many cases how another views you is more important.
Chushin wrote:
The Egyptian president is demanding an apology from the US government for a movie some American nut made.

Some Egyptian people attacked the US embassy because of that movie.

Using their logic, surely we can hold Egypt responsible for the 9/11 attacks, and conclude that Egyptians are terrorists.
And not only would it be ludicrous but dangerous to give an apology. It would validate extremist beliefs that all Americans are one and the same and that one speaks for another, so if some dude makes a YouTube video, captioned photo et cetera and a totally unrelated American happens to be in Egypt, that American is going to be attacked for us all. Or a plane will be flown in to a building or something.

Some times you can’t reason with children unfortunately and just have to punish them until “it” clicks.

I don’t know enought about Eisenhauer or Johnson to say, but Bush II did not “get it.”

He was a nice guy who thought most people just want to be free. He’s right.

But he didn’t account for the violent, organized, and motivated 1/3 in these countries that will take over.

I think the last USA president who got it was Nixon and perhaps Reagan. Nixon is famous in the ME for saying “the Shah of Iran is a bastard and a thug, but he’s OUR bastard and a thug.” And, the thing is, the Shah put Iran on the road to being a modern, secular, state. Yes, he had to clamp down on Islamist that popped out, but that’s the right thing to do.

Had the USA supported his rather difficult (from a naive Western) actions, Iran, and the entire Middle East would be a different place today.

This. I’ve travelled to several Arab countries over the last 5 years and distaste and contempt for America has rocketed. Saudi Arabians have particular animosity. Kuwait and Qatar are the only places where I’ve heard people volunteer positive remarks.
