You miss the point. The internet is about more than netflix or tik tok. Businesses, banks, government agencies, etc., all depend upon it. You could add the power grid to that as well. It’s no different than the ancient Romans or some medieval king starving a population into submission. Then again, you can read 1984 and Brave New World for fictional accounts on how the government can make a population compliant. But those novels based their reasoning on historical truths.
Why should I tell you more when you just provided an example?
So why in the hell would one continue to vote in a pattern such that furthers the control of the government? If they are known to historically take power, inch by inch, what on earth would convince someone to simply sit by idle and let them? Nevermind voting for them to further encroach on our freedoms.
I’ve already removed my daughter from any physically attending school so she is to be home schooled until we move states, because fuck california and its’ californian bullshit.
I think you are missing the point as well. Guns are important, because all wars go to ground and underground levels. Battles and complete submisions are not won by nukes or the internet. The majority of battles at and after world war 1 are won on canals.
If a population has guns it is very hard to win against them. Look at ISIS and Syria for a fresh example.
America isn’t Syria and Americans are not members of ISIS.
And it wouldn’t be a case of Americans vs the government but some Americans vs other Americans who have sided with the government. Luckily, civil war would be bad for business so those who really hold the power would never let it happen.
Well if you want to get technical, we don’t know the motive for Charlottesville either. He never said why he did it. But that didn’t stop the media from attributing narrative, based on what he has said in the past.
So by that metric, we know exactly what his motive was. To kill hurt and maim innocent people. There’s a lot videos, we can see what he did. Combine that with his rhetoric, and you got motive. Most murders don’t tell you why they did it. You have to look at their pattern of words and prior behavior and by that metric, he’s a racist who killed white people. A racist who kills people of the race he happens to hate, tends to be the motive of racism. And if a hate crime doesn’t get attached, it is a pure political act.
And you believed that?
Power and control. Behave as we say or else. That’s the only explanation that makes any sense since their positions are obviously illogical.
That is the one big difference between the cult and those from the center toward the right. We believe people can and should be responsible for themselves and think for themselves.
It’s not just modern conservatives. As the left has gone far off the reservation, the center and even center-left is being left homeless. Many classical liberals and center left individuals are realizing what is going on with the modern left.
The eternal question, why vote against your own interests and I have only 2 hypothesis that make any remote sense.
-Willful Ignorance: tribe first, cultish devotion to a set of ideals.
-Evil: Some people are just assholes and they have the money and connections to avoid having to follow the behavior they wish to compel on others.
Ex. Mandates? Not for congress or the executive.
The left has become a cult. They killed God in their tribe and replaced it with a religious devotion to their various causes. That’s why when you violate their core tenants of intersectionality, climate change, wokism, whatever, they lose their minds and hurl insults instead of presenting their facts.
They managed to prove Nietzsche right.
As an aside, I used to dislike Nietzsche. I didn’t consider his a philosopher, as much as a social critic. I still think that’s true, but it doesn’t mean all his ideas have no merit.
Just curious, how many conservatives are in your social circle? I’m a Republican precinct committeeman, so I know many, and I can tell you that most regard Ayn Rand as an intellectual curiosity and not as any kind of prophet. One of the problems with polarization in America is that the most extreme people are the loudest. I have to remind myself that most Democrats think people like Maxine Waters and AOC are nuts, regardless of how favorably the national media cover them.
You should have asked pat a similar question about liberals first. My post was in response to his.
But with regard to Rand, some influential Republicans like Paul Ryan and Ron Paul were enamored with her as is Rand Paul. Then you have the libertarian party which has a love hate relationship with her. And we should also add that insignificant politician on the margins Reagan to the list of Rand admirers.
That is a strange stereotype, to be accused of being an ayn rand disciple, just because you hold some conservative you points. I held the same beliefs before I have ever heard of Ayn Rand. She’s more akin to confirmation bias than a prophet. We can appreciate something without devotion. As far as rand, I am not a fan. I find Objectivism, objectionable. And if she’s a hero to anybody it would be more big L Libertarian.
Well, as predicted, it’s out of the news almost completely as if nothing happened. And consequently, we the people have followed suit and quit talking about it. We all need to check our sheep mentality. This was a ‘hate’ crime if I have ever seen one. It was terrorism, the guy clearly had a hatred of honkeys. He selectively hit white women and children, but it was an “accident”, the SUV did it. And this prick has the gall to bitch about how he was ‘demonized’ in the media, when they have mostly given him every possible benefit of the doubt and then buried the story.
I am willing to bet there is a prescribed methodology to deal with stories the media really doesn’t want to cover. Like after 3 days, stop talking about it and if you have to, relegate it to low watch times in throwaway pieces of news programs. The formula seems to be followed to a T every time.
Remember that black kid who shot up his school and was release on bond and whose family threw a welcome home party for? Yeah, I barely remember.
I mean, i don’t really agree with most of what pat was saying, but i think this is a false argument. Jussie is on trial NOW, and some Juicy (sorry, I had to) details are coming out that make it more media pertinent.
