In other news, I did zerchers today. They hurted.
Hey, I did 'em yesterday. See training log for video for something that looks like a giraffe in shorts.

Congrats on quitting. I quit almost 5 years ago after smoking over 20. I found drinking more helped.
Ya, but did you work up to 95lbs, huh, didya??
This is the second time ever I’ve done those damn things. There is not a squat rack in the work gym, however, the preacher curl thing is just the right height for zerchers and me. And of course there is a pussy pad for the 5k Smith machine.

Veg, I’ve tried that negative to positive thing. Maybe it’ll work when I get lung cancer, but hopefully before then.

Don’t forget your ol’ buddy Nards. I was worried for a while as to where you were.

V!

Long time no see, man. Good luck with what you’re doing. PM me if you wanna keep in touch off-line.

The BJLA kinda/sorta disbanded supposedly due to haters, non-believers, and sweet sweet vanilla.

Halo still sucks.

Hey Veg!

Stay a while. Why leave when so many here can encourage you?

Oh, and fuck PWI. Too many deaf ears, bloody rectums, and crybabies with blinders on over there.

Yea…stay for awhile! Pull up a chair.

LOL!

Veg, we need to catch up man … I’ve been doing more random lurking around here more than anything

You my boy blue!! Oh, and no more smoking? What are ya a quitter?

Nicotine goes into your brain and is converted into “nicotinic acid”; the vitamin “niacin” used to be called “nicotinic acid”, they changed it because they didn’t want people linking cigs to vitamins conceptually.

So, maybe taking extra niacin (maybe 100 mgs) would give your brain the nicotinic acid it’s used to from the cigs and help stay quitted?

Have you ever taken Niacin? We use it to help raise HDL levels (good cholesterol) in the body, you will have an extreme flushing sensation and basically turn red from the tits up. I was on it for years and it will not stop you from smoking or help. It will just drive you fucking crazy with the flushing.

No patch, I went day after thanksgiving turkey (on soft white bread with miracle whip no less).

I take a flushing dose of niacin every several months. It is pretty intense, It’s like a combination of itching and a painful sunburn. I may be a little sick, but I am actually starting to enjoy it. Maybe because I am learning that it doesn’t last more than a few hours. I strip down to the boxers, get a couple glasses of water lined up and sit on the couch trying not to move.

Things that will help that, eat a meal right before bed take the dose and go to sleep. Greatly decreases the effect, you can also take a 325 mg aspirin with it.

Nothing really has changed in our 10 years here Veg.

Oh and your Vibrams are still overpriced Chucks

Does it work?

And, I thought the flushing was dose dependent and you could ramp up as tolerance increased?

Yes it works, I would STRONGLY recommend that if it is covered by your insurance get Niaspan prescribed. IF not and you have to get the OTC, get SLOW release, buy the high end stuff and do all the stuff I said above.

My HDL when I was in my early 30’s was running 34-36 and this was with lifting some weights at that time but really I was running about 20 miles a week. Nothing would get the HDL above 40 where it needs to be. Started on Niaspan samples we had from the drug reps, within 3 months my HDL was at 50. Stopped working family practice and switched to the OTC, man that was an experience. Nothing like getting woke up at 2 in the morning thinking someone had set you on fire. I would have to spend an hour in the shower just so I wouldnt go screaming into the night.
