Use Supplements Now?

Just got my order from Biotest today…

2 jugs of Surge
2 bottles Alpha Male
2 bottles of ZMA
2 Containers of PowerDrive

I am currently trying to drop body fat and so far so good as I have dropped 15 lbs to date.

Should I be using these supplements now or should I wait till I get down to my 170 lbs and start to try to gain muscle mass? I need to lose another 15 lbs of fat.

PS - I wish I ordered a Testosterone T-Shirt…

Do you need to get down to 170 for a specific reason (wrestling or other weight class sport)? Just curious because you seem to be judging your progress based on the scale, instead of calipers. I’m sure you’ve heard it before, muscle weighs more than fat. As you work out, it is likely that you will gain weight, even though you will be losing fat and possibly size. Lifters cycle their phases, going from bulking to cutting and back, but the cutting is almost always based on body fat %, not weight.

As for the supplements, I guess I’d need to know a little bit more about your goals. If your restricted to a specific weight class, then I’d nix the Alpha Male. The scale doesn’t know the difference between a pound of muscle and a pound of fat. But, if size, strength, and appearance are your goals, it looks like a decent group, provided your backing it up with plenty of protein. (I didn’t see any Grow! in your list…)

Yeah sorry about that - no special need to make a weight class as I am just wanting to lose some body fat and gain some muscle to look good nekked…

Currently am 18% body fat, I have lost around 5.5% bodyfat in the past 6 weeks. My goal is eventually get down to 7% by next fall so I need to drop as low as I can this fall then start to try to gain muscle mass.

I eat between 150-180 grams of protein per day. Complex carbs are eaten in the AM and then turn to lots of veggies in the last two meals of the day. As far as protein powders go I am using a whey protein powder now but will end up switching to Grow! when this runs out.

My training program is pretty simple at the moment - lack of equipment issues here and no gym to speak of.

90 lb powerblocks a chinup/dip station and an incline/decline bench

I am following the Beginners lifting program in the archives at the moment with some modifications.

Squats and deadlifts are done with the 90lb powerblocks. Chins/pullups for back, Crunches for abs, Bench press with the powerblocks and I do 5 sessions of cardio a week.

anyone else have some thoughts on this?

Thanks
