USC Trojans

USC lacks hunger this year. After this weekend’s game, which I expected to be close (but not played the way it was by USC), I think the Trojans are going to lose this season, whether it’s in the regular season or their bowl game is another story. I say they either lose to UCLA and whoop their bowl opponent or win out the regular season and get stomped by Texas.[/quote]

I hope Texas is looking past this Saturday the way everyone else seems to be doing. They have to play Tech this week. Not a gimmee by any means.

And if my prediction holds that Tech will win - I expect a full apology from all of the football snobs out there that laughed at me at the first of the season.

Texas Tech runs a BS gimmick offense and will lose to Texas this weekend.

I am not a fan of texas but I doubt they are looking past tech after their quaterback put up 634 passing yards this weekend.

go blue

ps
texas is overrated

Just because it’s not 3 yards and a cloud of dust, or the Fun and Gun does not mean it is a ‘gimmick offense’. If it were - why has it been around in Big-12 football for the last 5 years without a serious attempt made to stop it (excepting OU’s ability to shut it down)?

We’ll agree to disagree. I personally am not a fan of the 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense, FYI. I’m old school about some aspects of FB, but not that one.

I’ll go with the Longhorns over Texas Tech

After looking at some of the ND/USC highlights, I can see why Carroll elected not to have instant replay for that game. Had Reggie Bush not pushed Leinart into the end zone, illegally I might add, there would have been a different outcome in South Bend.

A different outcome in south bend? Like Overtime you mean.

If they reviewed the play and penalized USC for Reggie Bush pushing Leinart, then they would have been penalized 10 yards and had to repeat the down. That would make USC kick a field goal and go into OT. That doesn’t guarentee that ND would win. They still have to be the #1 team in OT.

True, but that would have made that game even more incredible.

And it was plenty incredible as it was, I was listening to the game on the radio while under the hood of my truck removing a head gasket when I thought “fuck this, the truck can wait I gotta see this shit”

Amazing game, 10x worth all the hype during the week. Seeing Leinart nearly collapse after the touchdown told the whole story.

Just like my Utes’ “gimmick” offense thrashed your Panthers in the Fiesta Bowl?

Tech will probably lose to Texas but not because they run a so called gimmick offense.

If USC plays for thhe National Championship this season it will be at the Rose Bowl. My question is why the Rose Bowl this year.
What happened to the Orange Bowl holding the National game?
I’m glad it’ll be here in Southern California in Pasadena where its close to home but I’m just a lil confuse why a change of venue that’s all.

The BCS championship game was held at the Orange Bowl LAST YEAR. Poor Oklahoma.
To the best of my knowledge with the new BCS system the BCS National Championship Game gets rotated every year. From The Orange Bowl, to the Rose Bowl, to the Fiesta Bowl to the Sugar Bowl and repeats. Before the BCS system the best(conference champ) of the pac 10 played the best of the big 10 in the Rose Bowl. That doesn’t happen anymore.

Make sense?

OK. Thanks.

Well USC played like they are the defending champs beating the Huskies 51-24. Texas proved that they are #2 and should face the Trojans after beating Texas Tech.
Next up for SC is Washington State

Number 2???
No other team was able to knock USC off the nummber 1 standing until the BCS took them down to number 2!
The BCS sucks!!!

Right now I’m thinking that it is a fount of wisdom.

well, what do the wiseguys think?

"Texas is on top of the Bowl Championship Series. But would the No. 1 ranked Longhorns be favored against No. 2 USC if they were to meet in the Rose Bowl to decide the national championship?

For right now the answer is a solid no. The Trojans would be a 5 1/2 point favorite say the oddsmakers at PinnacleSports.com."

After clobbering Washinton St.55-13 I hope the BCS will realize that USC is #1.
They will next face Stanford.
A big test for themwill be the following week when they will face Cal.

So far, they’re still unstoppable.

And regarding the BCS, well, yea, it sucks. We need a true playoff system, with the Rose Bowl as the championship game.
