US Presidential Election Predictions

I’ll periodically post this because we see the truth of it unfolding on almost an hourly basis:

“Trump is now a lame duck with a flamethrower, and we ought to be concerned whether he believes that he has to burn the place down on his way out as a final, perverse show of strength”.

“The crucible of loss has distilled him down to his destructive, vindictive core. And now we have to both endure that toxic nub of a leader and his political death throes while making sure that he doesn’t burn the country and our democracy down on his way out”.

“It’s now all about scorched earth and settled scores.” Robert Schlesinger

This is dsbm (depressive suicidal black metal). It’s tremendously cathartic to listen to when feeling down.

Understandably though, I’m not into BM of which abundantly showcases antisemitism (there’s a lot of nazism, white supremacy and anti-semitism within black metal. The community is fairly toxic regarding this specific sub genre).

I could talk about metal all day, perhaps I’ll create a metal thread?

All I have to contribute I’ve already written here lol. That’s all I know other than I like some of the guitar oriented only “shredders” from the 80s/early 90s and guys like John Petrucci and Jason Becker.

But I think there’s lots of metal heads in this forum so by all means do create a thread if you want to.

I’m honestly more of a Led Zep and Maiden guy when it comes to bands.

Yes, in our roll as a “shining city upon a hill” and “beacon of hope” for the people of the world who were struggling to establish governments of their people, for their people.

I would think accountability and self examination would be important in your profession. Curious as to your negativity here.

If all metal songs just dispensed with the vocals and were all like this I’d be a real metalhead.

I don’t believe I am negative. I believe I’m saddened by poor behavior, which I have been for 5 years now. You don’t trample everything because you don’t like what’s happening. He has every right to challenge the outcome. He does not have the right to tear at our basic systems of democracy. Scream “stolen” AFTER there’s some reasonable proof. Not before.

Also, don’t mistake me for a Democrat, defending her party. I’m not one. I’m socially progressive, but a fiscal moderate-right, and I have a strong libertarian bent. I vote on both sides of the aisle, and supported my incumbent Republican governor this election. So don’t classify me as party first, as I am classifying you. It’s not my party. I reject both parties as corrupt.

Yep. It could get bad. There’s no doubt Trump is out. The question is how much damage will he cause on his way out. Trump fired Esper, via Twitter of course, and Biden is not getting security briefings because Trump won’t allow the normal transition processes to take place. Back to Esper, he’s been fired because:
A - he wasn’t on board with Trump’s upside down bible holding photo op.
B - he is in support of renaming military bases.
C - he was against sending active duty troops to quell protests.

In other words, he’s not loyal enough to Trump.

So at a time when we should be shoring up national security because of the Presidential transition, Trump is exposing the country to danger. Why? Ego. Vanity. etc.

The real modern existing source of anti-gay bigotry is Islam in much of the world. It may be that the lefts codling of people that throw gay people off the roofs of buildings is shifting the tide a bit.

I thought we were talking OAS. And l was speaking to your negativity concerning it.

But if you want to rant on Trump, carry on.

And I’m responding that I think it’s another indicator that things are going very poorly. Isn’t that where I started? Saddened and dismayed? Then you posted the wikipedia page and I copied what I thought were relevant supportive bits, and reiterated “saddened and dismayed.” Then you called me negative, suggesting some needed introspection. And then I said I’m not negative, but rather exhausted.

We’ve never needed international oversight before. It’s just one more thing. There have been a thousand things. But I understand that justifying Trump is your thing, so okay! Defend on!

I mean I don’t know how even Trump fans could be against this idea. By all means it’s your right to challenge and go right ahead. But we can’t say something along the lines of “we had historic turnout and just want to make sure everything was counted properly?”

No it was all setup before the election that this was rigged in the event of a Trump loss. And so he loses and here we are. Which everyone essentially knows is placating one of the world’s biggest crybabies. Saying the election was rigged puts every single race in question. How do we know Doug Jones lost in Alabama? He do we know a prop vote passed?

Oh because we aren’t seriously saying that. We’re saying it was rigged specifically in the states that were closest in the Presidential election. Crazy how that happens. And crazy that somehow it’s impossible that any type of fraud was done by Republicans.

Are you going to present us with an exception?

I dunno. That last one caused quite a ruckus too.

Do you feel that our process would benefit from an independent audit, “go back to the way it used to be” when ever it was that occurred, or remain exactly how it is?

I’m for auditing the election process to ensure we are keeping what works, dispensing with what doesn’t, and shoring up or fixing any flaws.

I am not convinced of it. I think there is a higher chance than with Obama or Bush for the reasons I listed out.

I have no dog in this fight, but some of the arguments from the Trump crowd are interesting to me. Like that the Democrats are disorganised and wholly incompetent, can’t even manage their own primary and so have no business running the country. Yet they can secretly carry out a massive, well organised nationwide act of electoral fraud right under the noses of the incumbent president, Republicans and foreign observers without any whistleblowers speaking out and without leaving a trace, while simultaneously conspiring with every big tech and media corporation (including Fox) to call the vote in their favour.

I think this type of thing can happen to people on both sides. I think it would be worth it to have logic / epistemology required in HS.

That is quite meme worthy.

Like, why don’t they pay attention to what’s happening within their own borders?

I bet if the worked real hard at that, they wouldn’t have nearly as much time to be sending these zingers our way.

That took all of.345 seconds to find, which was auto filled to “Zimbabwe Brutality 2020” as I was typing zimbab.

So, yeah, meme worthy. Sure. :+1:
