US Presidential Election Predictions

That’s fair. I’m still hoping NC flips and I have a perfect map but that seems unlikely.

FWIW I just don’t see massive recounts happening that would swing this the other way depending on how counts finalize. It’s very possible Trump needs to swing multiple states back his way.

I think it’s possible a GA or AZ ends up going to him and I think both may be in recount territory. But that’s still a loss. And if I was betting I wouldn’t put any significant amounts of money on even the tightest states not staying the way they are today.

Aren’t…you…not…even…from or in the U.S.? Why do you care either way?

Are you under the impression that people don’t care about politics except for in their own country?

We have had conversations about politics in other countries where the majority of posters haven’t been from there. And some where not a single one has been.

I am officially banned from liking this post as I have apparently used all my social media quotient for the next hour…

Wonder if one of the conditions is his opponent having over 270 electoral votes?

“Trump is now a lame duck with a flamethrower, and we ought to be concerned whether he believes that he has to burn the place down on his way out as a final, perverse show of strength”.

“The crucible of loss has distilled him down to his destructive, vindictive core. And now we have to both endure that toxic nub of a leader and his political death throes while making sure that he doesn’t burn the country and our democracy down on his way out”.

“It’s now all about scorched earth and settled scores.” Robert Schlesinger

Irrelevant… also

I lived in the US for nearly seven years. A decent body of my family resides within the US to boot. I still have some semblance of a life over there.

One doesn’t have to reside directly within the US to care about US politics either. Ramifications/benefits incurred from a presidency can trickle over to other countries. Political influence is a fluid medium, not an isolated entity. I was also interested in the NZ election + euthanasia/cannabis referendums going on in New Zealand despite not residing there. Outcomes incurred will likely have sociocultural/socioeconomic influence within Australian society.

Just as another term of Trump presidency would further halt anything being done about Australia’s dependancy on coal mining/fossil fuels and our PM’s reluctance to do anything about it “these unprecedented bushfires are our new normal, we need to adapt to these continuing extremes”… get fucked Scott Morrison… DAMMIT…

Trump was good for Isreal. I’m not particularly biased towards Isreal because I’m jewish. I support the IDF/Isreal as a nation as opposed to the Palestinian authority because the Isreali government doesn’t refer foreign government issued funding straight to Hamas and/or give large “reward” payouts to families who have lost members to suicide bombings. I do believe the force excised by the IDF can be unjust and excessive at times, and the roadblocks do infringe upon the rights of those residing within Gaza. At the same time, roadblocks and checkpoints exist due to rampant levels of religious extremism present. Granted innocent civilians also (unfairly) get caught up in the mix.

I have a large portion of my family that is pro-trump because “Isreal”, and as a result they completely discount all other negatives associated with a Trump presidency as if Israel is the only variable that matters as to who should be the president of the Untied States.

Wow what an objective title. Fuck the media.

That being said:

"While Mr. Biden stopped short of claiming victory as the week unfolded, he appeared several times in his home state, Delaware, to express confidence that he could win, while urging patience as the nation awaited the results. Even as he sought to claim something of an electoral mandate, noting that he had earned more in the popular vote than any other candidate in history, Mr. Biden struck a tone of reconciliation.

It would soon be time, he said, “to unite, to heal, to come together as a nation.

This is how a fucking President should behave.

This is all just 4D chess from Trump, just you watch. He’s going to wait for Biden to push through whatever policies he can in his term and then swoop in in 2024, win in a landslide and dismantle his legacy.

I think he knows he will be up against Kamala in 4 years so he’s playing the long game. This is a real 4D chess master we’re talking about.

Both Donald Trump and Joe Biden are dinosaurs. Donald Trump’s cardiometabolic health is questionable. It’s very possible he may kneel over from a heart attack before Biden’s term is over. Same goes for Biden, although Biden isn’t obese, nor is he on statins and from what we know I don’t believe he has coronary artery disease unlike Trump (not all old people have significant CAD)

I’d be more worried for Biden’s mental health. Hopefully he lasts for 4 years. I doubt we’ll see Trump run again.

Agreed, it’ll be interesting to see whether he unfolds and/or whether he can make it through a full term.

Can someone explain to me what’s going on in Georgia with these run-off elections? From what I can see it appears republicans would be poised to remain within the senate majority. But people are talking about Georgia flipping this and Mitch potentially being stripped of his unwavering “grim reaper” powers.

I really dislike Mitch McConnell.

I gotta tell ya, if Kamala becomes President only because Biden steps down, the backlash will be HUGE going by what I’ve seen happen in Asia.

Trump doesn’t have a good track record with black women.

I wonder why…

Yeah that’s some bullshit. NYT still has some serious clout but stuff like this bothers me.

Damn straight. I’ve been really glad to hear Biden’s conciliatory speeches, and it makes me feel a lot better about his presidency. I hope I’m not wrong…

The short answer is that if no Senator reaches 50.00% of the vote there is a mandatory run-off.

I believe (but don’t quote me) that Senatorial races are “ranked choice”, and that if the top candidate does not reach 50% vote there is a mandatory run-off with the top two candidates.

Interesting, democratic candidate currently has the majority of the vote (in special election for Georgia). If the end-result is a democratic candidate being elected within Georgia, the senate will not have a republican majority.

I wonder how it’ll turn out. Perhaps more blue voters will be compelled to vote, or vice versa given election results. The same could be said with red voters.

As someone not from the US it’s interesting looking at how different areas voted. Looks like residents in NE Wyoming are the heaviest Republican supporters in the country. All the neighbouring counties have 85%+ Republican voters.
