I totally get it, I heard Moby’s ‘no one listens to techno’ looped to techno in a club. A bit of siren might help.
Forum ate my first response, so here goes again…
Automatically? No, definitely not.
And if it was just some fringe supporters that we’re going off the deep end about things I’d be likely to give them the blame and not Trump.
Put it this way - if Trump somehow someway was like John McCain and he started saying stuff about bad ballots being counted and impropriety costing votes, I’d be MUCH more likely to listen to him.
But he’s not. And when you spew unadulterated bullshit for years (quite literally) my tolerance for bullshit goes to zero. All the more so when, on top of said daily bullshit, you are telling the entire country and your 60 million Twitter followers that there is NO WAY you can lose the election unless it is stolen and rigged for months in advance.
Basically my reaction to anything a person like that is to completely disbelieve anything that comes out of their mouth. It’s the boy who cried wolf.
Ok, first I absolutely agree none of us should accept fraud as normal. Second, challenging things in court is kinda shitty, but fine. That’s been done before too (2000) and I’m sure in many races there are lawsuits we don’t hear about. I am sure Biden has a lot of lawyers as well.
But yes I do disagree there is evidence of widespread fraud or a “cooked” election, or anything approaching that level.
I don’t know. Lawyers might get involved. But then recount requests are provided for by law, and much different than lawsuits. And they’re even MORE different from claiming an election that hasn’t even taken place yet must be fraudulent if you lose.
Hillary said some shitty stuff. I just don’t see her anywhere near the level of Trump is all. And I agree with this, and like yourself have several extended family members I am hoping don’t fall off the deep end.
Yall better get ready for this to be a court battle. This is not going to be over for a while. Both sides are going to fight for every single vote, as they should.
If you think this is going to be settled this week, you’re dreaming. The lack of transparency in the counting rooms are a bit alarming and making good fodder for court cases.
So let me break this down for yall as well as I know it. It’s possible that these disputes do not get settled by Dec. 14 when the electorate has to turn in their ballots, in which case then, the vote goes to the HOR. The HOR then splits into delegations, who then each get one vote. That favors republicans.
But wait! you say. The HOR is mostly democrat, that is true but they do not have the majority in delegations, the republicans have that majority.
The Dec. 14th date is a hard date, the electorate has to be in. If not, it can go to the HOR, or SCOTUS decides on what counts and what doesn’t.
This is how the checks and balances work ladies and germs.
Personally, a do-over is starting to sound better to me, though there is no Constitutional provision for that. I suppose it can be deemed a run-off between the two guys and exclude parties and tag-alongs. In other words it wouldn’t be Trump (R), Biden (D), it would be Trump or Biden.
Right now, it’s undeclared and it may not be declared for some time. I would put money on this going on for months.
It’s going to be a long ride.Get used to it. I thought this might happen.
At this point, either your sources of information are completely uncoupled from reality, or one of us is likely under the influence of psychotropic substances. I’m hoping it’s you, or I have some serious problems.
You and I will probably just have to agree to disagree on that. I don’t believe in the deep state in that manner. I do think though that dynastic families in politics are a thing, but I believe it has more to do with connections and networking.
Yeah… I think I may have been one of those (not actually sure). Boy were we wrong.
…Is absolutely no basis for a lawsuit in ANY court. Come on, that’s not even close to how our courts operate.
Yes, and it is absolutely unusual for the postmaster general to be called in to court and grilled.
Yes I definitely believe Trump has the right to challenge election results legally. But this particular instance seems cut and dry that the courts were within their purview.
I’d also have to look up PA election rules, but I don’t think the 8 pm RECEPTION rule is actually what’s on the books. May be completely wrong though.
This to me is one of the problems with the “popular vote” angle: there’s no way to hold the patterns people have now steady I you just magically take away the electoral college. Massive change will ensure and most of us don’t have any idea what that will look like. Granted that’s not a reason to avoid making the change, but it’s a big issue that I don’t think people take into account.
Also I agree with you on voter ID.
Is that response to me?
I linked a c-span video of the actual press conference.
Nah, he’s technically correct that it’s undeclared, still. Even ant-Trump Yahoo only has Biden with 264. Hyperbole is the problem, on both “sides”.
The funny thing is, your requirements for voters are far more strict than the right’s requirements for gun ownership.
You are also disqualifying Alabama with those requirements.
We should be able to vote at Walmart?
Yes I do. I didn’t think I needed to disclaim the post, but I was not specific enough in my writing
This is exactly what I’m talking about when I use the term “evangelists of the loony variety”. You’d be surprised how many I’ve met in Asia. Wait, YOU probably won’t. Others would.
We used to burn them.
No, it wasn’t. It was a response to the gentleman above who is so convinced of widespread electoral fraud.
They’re pretty good and easy lays. Such a pity to burn them.
This is a fucking omnishambles.
The weirdest thing is Trump was demanding to stop counting and he was behind in two places that may have cost him the election (Az and NV) even without Pennsylvania. Which we saw with the stop the count/let them count chants.
He should have been a bit more specific earlier. “These counters in Michigan and Pennsylvania, huge losers all of them, need to stop counting votes. The counters in Arizona and Nevada, patriots and heroes, need to count all the votes. First let me list the counties that need counted…”
Going with the old heads I win tails you lose method.
That’s probably sounding better to Trump as well.
I’ll take that bet and give you great odds. How much you want to make it for and who on here you want to be the escrow? I’m not super rich but I enjoy gambling and I don’t think this is going on for months in the least bit. It’s likely going to be not even remotely 2000 close.
Would you like this separated from Obamagate biggest thing ever, Hunter Biden biggest thing ever, or all added into one barrel?
I really only trust the reports on 538; I don’t particularly care about what is declared by any one, least of all the candidates. I just want to see (sufficiently) trustworthy data, about votes or about irregularities.
A lifetime in the hard sciences means my temperature rises when people make statements with maximum confidence and minimum evidence.
