That’s one thing. The other is that he does this purposely and many low info people will fall for it…driving fraudulent claims against the legitimacy of our government further into the population. It’s absolutely abominable. These are demonstrably false claims that he is knowingly putting out specifically to undermine opposition.
I think he’s ignorant about many things, but not things like this. This is probably one of the only things in the entire world that I agree with that crazy old kook Sanders about. Trump does stuff like this intentionally.

For the good of the country and getting past the election quickly, I was hoping (and expecting) a more decisive victory for Biden. That said, I must admit it is somewhat enjoyable to watch Trump and his crew meltdown and be such sore losers. It’s not unexpected, with his pre-election mantra of “If we win, it’s because I’m the greatest President ever. If I lose, it’s because the election was stolen.”
If you go to foxnews and read the comment section, there are really some gems there. It’s conspiracy galore, with Deep State guiding results behind the scenes, truck loads of illegal votes being printed and delivered to polling places, election officials just putting whatever numbers they want on vote totals, etc…, etc… It makes me glad to have this forum for some (usually) reasonable disucssions.

This stuff was acceptable when the internet wasn’t a thing and there was no way to know. In the age of APIs and big data pipelines from point of point at the speed of light, there’s no excuse.

I know you didn’t ask me but since I’m the resident republican Trump hater I guess I’ll take a stab at it anyway…
On a fundamental level I don’t care if someone is unqualified for something on paper if they get the job done. To that end people like Dave Tate don’t have some sort of stupid CSCS certification but you can be damn sure I’d rather learn how to squat from Dave Tate than some stick figure at a gym with all the paper.
In any case, this has been touched on by other people in other threads but I think those deals are almost entirely PR. In other words they don’t really change anything about actual politics or actions in those areas. They are essentially publicity stunts that the president is looking for to show his street cred as a dealmaker.
Problem is since they’re completely insubstantive they’re not really deals.

My Dad who is maybe a blue dog Democrat at times but also votes Republican when he likes them and about as centrist as it gets has been beyond angered by this. He (maybe like you a center-right) just calls me at times flabbergasted by the lies. He said I’m fearful for this country. What people said used to matter. We should be shouting some of this stuff from the hilltops that blatant consistent crazy lying is not ok.
He’ll never be liberal and may be just as likely to vote Republican in 2024 than 2020 has been amazed at what Trumps done. I’ve tried to explain some of it but he always cuts me off and says no it’s bullshit. He’s deliberately saying complete bullshit all the time and no one calls him on it.
Now my Dad a voter in Kansas didn’t lose this for Trump. But in a tight race maybe enough people who felt like him did.
PS not sure if you define yourself by center right or anything. Just that’s what you “seem” like to me.
