US Presidential Election Predictions

You mean BOR? Short for Bill of Rights.

Oh! Got it!

Thanks!

You can either look at it as classy; collecting “political capital”; or both.

Biden stated in a recent interview that several GOP Senators had called to congratulate him…but he refused to share any names because he knew the tough position they were in.

Or Bent Over Rows. And I think “lionizing” is an intensification technique, where you hold the contraction for 5 seconds. In this specific case, either Bill of Rights or Bent Over Rows would apply.

It’s true. They, for the most part, seem to only desire a slower transition to the Democrats’ endpoint.

Probably just the right amount to overturn the election results in 3 or 4 key states.

No, because while the Dems and their cronies are also feeding richly at the trough, at least they are after using SOME of the money to make people more comfortable, e.g. protecting pre-existing conditions, trying to increase social security, healthcare for kids (which saves us money in the long term).

Yes, it’s Robin Hooding, but at least it’s not just unadulterated feasting cronyism.

Trump has trampled all of the deepest values of the Republican party. He is inserting the federal government where it doesn’t belong against the express wishes of local leadership and he has increased the nation’s debt with nary a care for what it means to the future. He is distinctly FOR big government and big spending. Jesus, this election debacle! How much money?? The country is contracting all over the place, people and businesses are dying, and he’s forcing states and counties to litigate bullshit. (The media should have to pay a share of all bullshitery.)

And maybe Nuke California, New York, Detroit and Atlanta?

@EmilyQ!

Stop holding back! Tell us what you REALLY think!

Haha, that’s it for now. But really, I have HAD ENOUGH.

You began your post with “No,” but didn’t really refute what I said.

Give it a few years and the Republicans will be doing what the Democrats are now, like I said.

That has long been a Republican value. Other Republican Presidents are remembered fondly for doing so.

It’s true. Of course, the other side is forcing the businesses to die.

Showing some minuscule sliver of compassion, or what perhaps passes for that but is actually a manipulation?

What, big spending and gov’t overreach? Or am I misunderstanding you?

We disagree here. The leadership vacuum has much more to do with that.

Trump - and many of his buffoon minions - continue to whine about Section 230 and Trump went so far as to demand its repeal be attached to recent legislation (the Defense Auth Act) else he wouldn’t sign it (cue waterworks).

One problem - the master negotiator made the existence of Section 230 (or its equivalent) a condition of NAFTA 2.0:

You see, for all Trump’s stated opposition to Section 230, his administration’s own trade deal with Mexico and Canada—the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, or USMCA—specifically includes a version of the same law. The deal, which took effect over the summer, prohibits the signatory countries from adopting any measures that would hold an interactive computer service liable for content created by others.

I’ve stopped asking when it will end…because it won’t:

“President Donald Trump on Saturday called Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, pushing him to convince state legislators to overturn President-elect Joe Biden’s win in the state”.

“Trump asked Kemp to call a special session and convince state legislators to select their own electors that would support him. He also asked the Republican governor to order an audit of absentee ballot signatures”.

(Please, PLEASE don’t anyone post a “Well…if there is any question whatsoever, I would want…!” type of reply…because the only “questions” about this election are the ones that Trump has made up in his delusional mind…)

It’s really hard to fathom. My hope is that only the most extreme of trumpers are on board with any of this and his overall support is dwindling by the hour.

I think you underestimate the potency of the kool-aid.

I was on board at first, and that kinda tapered down. Then the pandemic broke out, but by then I was skeptical. I liked the people he has/put in place, re: Birx and Fauci, and some of the policy stuff.

Then he politicized a public health crisis creating mass confusion, conflict and rabid division.

I still stand in amazement at what a megalithic fucking asshole he made of himself over something that could have been solved with a few brief, concise, and definitive statements.

But there are others that never tapered. They just doubled down, time and time again creating a Pascals triangle of stupidity and self delusion.

But where are these people? Red states? A lot of the red states are surging far more than the “poorly run blue states” that Trump used to point as the epicenters of the crisis. It’s understandable that people haven’t wised up, if they happened to live in an area that was in some way insulated from the worst of this pandemic so far. But I guarantee those people will not be able to hide from it forever. Especially if they do not it take it seriously enough to get vaccinated.

On the other hand they may start spinning it as “biological warfare being waged by China or something, and Joe Biden is being too soft on them!”

Eh, I dunno. This is just observation of people I know personally.

I know a few but they are essentially ghosted at this point in life. As soon as they start down the rabbit hole I just shut conversation down, walk away and consider that their last moments in my life. I have way too much at stake to entertain or be subject to some malformed idiotic conspiracy babble come to life.

That’s essentially where I am, @SkyzykS.

As I told Pat; it’s gotten to the point of being mentally exhausting, even on a Political Forum, to even respond to this stuff.
