I guess when you’re baby jesus, you gets to write a baby bible.
Republicans gave them a boogeyman to blame for their problems, so they didn’t have to look in a mirror for change. people are always looking to hear it’s not their fault… the GOP delivered that message AND gave them an enemy to blame. Which is ironic because the GOP used to be the party of pulling yourself up by the bootstraps… Now it’s the party of scapegoating and blaming liberals/media/immigrants/china/etc.
And democracy.
That would be true but GOP keeps picking up seats, also in state houses. It would appear now the election was good for conservatives long term but bad for Trump being at the top of the ticket. The midterms will likely clear this up a bit.
And people probably still think the health care plan that covers all, the tax records, Mexico paying for the wall, his evidence of Obama’s birth certificate being a fraud, etc all still exists.
It truly is memorizing his ability to emphatically deliver an idea that something is real that such a large amount of people believe because the way he says it. Even if the evidence isn’t there or he can’t possibly begin to explain how.
The comparisons to the super successful preachers were probably true. Oral Roberts said god told him he would die if he didn’t raise 8 million and his followers gave him 9 million.
It annoys me because it just seems so simple to me to see but it’s also fascinating at the same time. Oral Roberts also said he had raised people from the dead. I think Trump could say that tonight and be believed by many of his followers.
Yeah the amount of lawsuits now getting “dropped” right before they are taking place is quite telling. Just keep saying the stuff is coming and keep the money train rolling.
“Three Wisconsin voters, backed by conservative group True the Vote, voluntarily dismissed a lawsuit that sought to block the state from certifying votes in several Democratic-leaning counties, claiming their votes had been diluted because of alleged voter fraud and “illegal” votes in those counties.
The lawsuit—in which the plaintiffs admitted they did not yet have any concrete evidence of illegal votes and the evidence would be “shortly forthcoming”—was dropped immediately before the case was supposed to be heard in court.”
Yeah, I think if you’re not under Trump’s spell, it’s just mind boggling that this can (and is) happening in our modern society. Now, I realize that this would be only the most fervent of Trump supporters (at least I hope), but still it’s a much larger crowd than I ever imagined.
But what gets me is that he (or his lawyer, Guiliani) can’t even articulate a reasonable case for fraud. They just type in all CAPS, get belligerent, and speak in a non-coherent, circular fashion.
One last thing - this does make me think that maybe Trump is smarter than I gave him credit for. He just simply cares only about himself and stroking his own ego, but he couldn’t have played this better. He will come out of this funded by his own followers, with enough of a head of steam to keep his media appearances up, and he doesn’t have to be president anymore (which, let’s face it, he was never interested in any aspect of the job.)
Not only did he lose, he lost by a landslide if you use the same definition of landslide that he and Kelly Anne used in 2016.
This x 2…
I thought this was an aptly titled article:
Trump just wants to golf, tweet, and eat fast food, but really wants the attention that comes with his golfing, tweeting, and McD-binges. It’s quite the conundrum. As the non-president, only his NewsMax-reading fans will care what entree he is shoveling while he tweets conspiracy theories from the 11th hole. The rest of us can finally, FINALLY, get some goddam rest.
What is it with US presidents and golf? Trump, Obama, G.W. Bush and Bill Clinton all seemed to golf a lot and were criticized for it. I understand that they’re old dudes and it’s a pretty leisurely activity, but why only that hobby out of a billion others?
I dunno man. I’ve been down in the area once, and If I had access to Camp David I’d be there from Friday evening till Sunday night every weekend drifting flies. And nymphs. And some hopper/droppers.
I couldn’t hit a golf ball to save my life though.
Out of those 4, Bush and Obama did some other stuff. Bush liked to mountain bike and Obama played basketball so both of them branched out a bit.

I think Obama’s more manly than Trump in the sense of the notion that “a man is true to his word, that he takes responsibility, that he doesn’t complain, that he isn’t a bully—in fact he defends the vulnerable against bullies” that @loppar was quoting.
These were all things that my grandfather told me.
He also told me that a man honours his debts, a man doesn’t cheat or con others, a man doesn’t hit women.
But I haven’t seen how the old man looks riding a bike yet so I dunno, maybe he’s a pansy ass.
This x 2.
Trump’s current “scorched Earth” Policy is really beginning to have real National Security implications.
Against the advice of Top Military Leaders (that he “respects”) and the Defense Chairman he just fired; he seems hell-bent on pulling troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan. There are also reports that he wishes to bomb Iran facilities. (Look it up for yourself).
It really appears Trump is trying everything in his Power to leave as much of a mess for Biden as he can…“Making America Greater” with each passing day.
(@loppar…any further insights on the Iran/Iraq/Afghanistan mess Trump is creating?)
He is like a child who is told it’s Bobby’s turn to play with the legos, and even though he wasn’t even playing with them, he breaks them all on his way out and cries and tantrums. On another note, Foxnews still has lots and lots of users in the comments convinced that Trump will be victorious once the huge amount of fraud and conspiracy are presented to the Supreme Court. This would be amusing, except, as you say, this is doing very real damage to our country.
How does one even respond to alternate realities?
It’s the most surreal thing I’ve ever seen. I really can’t believe this is happening, where a literal doofus can tweet anything and millions believe it. No evidence at all is required, no logic, no masterfully crafted propaganda speech, just short, all caps, misspelled tweets. “I WON!!!” “Sleepy Joe is a croook”. “Lock her up”. And his followers take it as absolute gospel.
