U.S. Hegemony on the Decline

You didn’t have to say it, your posts give off that vibe.

So I guess all those people who fought for women to vote and for civil rights were just stupid? I’m sure there were depressed people like you around just accepting the status quo and the way things were back then.

Of course.

Is highlighting the injustices that go on around us everyday, just bitching? To you it probably is as you’ve internalized the propaganda that has been spoon fed to you for decades. You ought to be thankful for people like me as I expose you to viewpoints not typically expressed in the mainstream. But hey, just continue your indoctrination. I’m sure it’s probably complete right now.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Wait a second while I catch my breath

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

This comment is synonymous to what you have contributed to society.

Holy SHIT dude… what happened?

Egregious wear and tear? Sports injury? Weightlifting accident? Car crash? Fall off a building?

To be fair
.“avoidable mortality” frequently relates to poor dietary habits and lifestyle choices (i.e smoking, drinking heavily, lots of KFC wicked wings) as opposed to being unable to afford chemo or something along those lines

In Aus, our public health system is falling apart because we don’t have enough trained doctors, we have a limited number of medical schools and a very small number of instutions willing to train doctors who decide to become a specialist

As a result, under our public system… some people are having to wait up to 8 YEARS to get an appointment and people actually are dying of cancer because they have a 2+ year wait to see a specialist when they’ve been diagnosed with a potentially cancerous tumour.

Under our private system, the wait times have also become egregiously long… not enough doctors

There also isn’t all that much incentive to practice here considering doctors in Europe
generally make a lot more. Doctors in America easily make 2x as much (or more) than doctors do here.

Also too many restrictions here… too many doctors getting audited for doing nothing wrong.

If I ever wind up as an MD… I wouldn’t practice in Australia…

Either born that way or the injury happened when I was young. Had no disc left - it was bone on bone but the rest of my spine looks flawless.

All of these things apply probably more so in America. I flat out reject the Gallop poll used as the evidence for the Guardian’s assertion.

But since we’re using Gallop

Let’s ask 5,500 over the internet and extrapolate to 330,000,000…

How are you now?

Can you lift?

Could you play contact sport if you desired to?

I still lift - I just don’t go as heavy as I used to.

Still squatting 405 for high reps - I have cut out heavy deadlifts - pretty much deadlifts altogether now. I have no reason to do them.

Otherwise I am back to 100% doing whatever I want.

I played D1 college ball and a few years of arena - I’m not sure my body these days outside of my back would hold up lol.

Remember I’m knocking on the door of 40.

Football or basketball?

Both sports are dangerous. There’s a basketball player in my class who simultaneously ruptured his ACL, tore his MCL And meniscus

He is hoping to get back in the swing of things… all I can think is “yeeeeaaaaa… unfortunately I don’t think that’s going to happen”

That’s career ending

So that makes it okay? How would you feel if you were forced into BK trying to save the life of your child who was diagnosed with an awful disease? You know where they don’t have medical BK’s? Countries that have single-payer.

So people in the U.S. don’t die because of healthcare’s cost? Are those deaths just made up?

No you can’t because you live in the economic stone ages.

Do you live in a vacuum? It IS because I trade currencies(don’t have a traditional job)that I have the time to volunteer at the food bank. Everyone else there is retired and a decade or two older then I.

But it does happen frequently under an economic system that you champion. Whether you think it’s moral or not. That moral thinking doesn’t seem to come into play while you defend the system.

And so do the others who were negatively affected by this system

Bloated military spending most likely cause has to do with the power of the MIC and it’s power over our prostitute politicians(Reps and Dems alike) who are under their control. Just like war. It is a business of death and killing.

Except a single-payer healthcare system for all.

But is falling fast as wages have stagnated for quite some time.

And then you compare our economic growth to third world countries and want to claim that is somehow a fair comparison. How was is that everyone in my neighborhood, when I was a kid, had 1 parent that worked, a modest home, 2 cars in the driveway and took a vacation every year but that now is not typical? I tell you declining wages that are no longer ted to productivity.

Why would there be any poverty in the richest country in the world?

Yeah as long as you don’t mind paying for it.

As much as the supply chain disruption?

Clown show.

You claimed America is basically a shit country and has it sooo bad (the theme of all your inane posts). I countered that by positing data showing that by almost every measure, the average person in the US is far better off than about 95% of the world.

Zep, how is it that you whine so much about the way things are, believe MMT is just the way things are, and still have such undying faith in MMT?

Football.

I broke a few bones, but was lucky and never had any serious injury while playing.

And your point is? MMT is merely a description of how the monetary system works. If it’s used for nefarious purposes it doesn’t negate it’s validity.

“far better” and falling fast.
