I myself am not a patriot. I wanted to be one, but I can’t, because unlike Ukraine, which is a real country, I now reside in what I consider a fake country, an economic zone, and a third-worlded territory. And much of the US citizenry doesn’t have my back and is hell bent on destroying this place, and that has been very disheartening.
I accept I am looking from a different framework than some here. I don’t care if US hegemony is weakened.
Besides, it doesn’t matter what I think. American society is like a train running off a cliff. I didn’t want it wrecked, didn’t do or support anything thing for it to be wrecked, and I can’t stop it from being wrecked. I consider myself a passive accelerationist, just a guy who watches it go downhill. I voted once in my life over a decade ago, and never will again.
I read that piece from last year. Perhaps Roberts, who I’ve never seen present himself as a libertarian (not all on the site have), has an inaccurate view on Putin and Russia (I did too, which was corrected with your direction), I don’t see anything in that article that shows dictator worshiping.
