Trump: The First 100 Days

What are the chance Xi directly NK to start acting up prior to his meeting with Trump? All of a sudden Trump’s willing to give them a not so great trade deal as long as they pull NK’s leash… Sounds to me like China pulled a fast one.

There you go with your outlandish conspirac…wait, that actually makes perfect sense.

Here is something I am happy about. Remember how I said a lot of what the president can do is manipulate people’s outlooks ( I said this in reference to economics/company decisions mind you)

http://dailycaller.com/2017/04/12/the-trump-effect-immigrant-displacement-of-american-workers-hits-the-wall/

Even if you think a wall will not prevent illegal immigrants as a physical barrier, there’s evidence it will create a mental barrier in the minds of illegal invaders

This would certainly be temporary though yes? Eventually he’ll have to actually build said wall or people will know he backed off and just start heading over again.

Not necessarily. It’s all about controlling the narrative

Might be hard to convince other countries when so many of our own people are already calling his bluff.

Anything that is said to make Trump look bad makes sense to you --LOL

I don’t think Assad and some of the other dictators will be calling his bluff. They think he’s nuts…And believe it or not that’s what we needed. Obama was laid back and predictable and every two bit dictator in the world was well aware of it.

It was mostly in jest, Zeb. I already said he deserved credit if he talked Xi into facing down NK. But, then again, USMC’s theory makes some sense.

Didn’t it come out that the US warned Russia, and probably through extension Assad, before the strike? Then we drop a MOAB on a part of the country with basically as little collateral damage as possible. I like to bash on Trump for being nuts as much as the next guy, but both of those decisions were pretty sane.

Also the calling his bluff part was about his intent to actually build a wall.

Yeah, the written word does not communicate emotion very well. I too was joking. Dang…when will they develop voice message boards?

Yeah, I know but I wanted to talk about the bombings. And I think he’s got to build a “wall” of some sort don’t you? Sheesh …that’s all he talked about.

While I don’t agree about USA “back in the game” (let’s face it, we’ve been the world leader for 30 years), I personally like Trump’s decisions on Syria and the MOAB. I’m hoping it’s because Bannon is out of the circle and Trump will continue to make good choices.

Me too. I believe some well timed and placed ordinance can cut a lot of shit in the long run.

I don’t know if ISIS is capable of getting messages, but if that soul shatterer of a bomb didn’t get the point across maybe the next 50 of them will.

Semi-serious question: how many MOABs do we have lying around? I read that this was the “biggest non-nuclear bomb that we have” and I’m just kind of curious how many of them are floating around at any one time.

Also, the explosive power of that bomb is ridiculous (excluding the power of nukes, since they’re a level of destruction that most of us literally cannot fathom). Imagine dropping a single bomb that struck the 50 yard line at Heinz Field and wiped out everything from the Rivers Casino over to PNC Park.

Any targets that contain only ISIS, I agree. But those seem pretty few-and-far between. They typically hide among the citizenry.

I don’t know, T.

The Chinese leaders are pragmatic, not some Moa-inspired ideologues, wearing workers clothing. In fact, many are millionaires (if not Billionaires)…with nukes and plenty of Cannon Fodder to lose with their Army.

The interest of China…is always what is in their interest…and getting that Crazy, Drug-Addicted Kid K Jong-Un with Nukes in line was in their interest.

If it wasn’t…Trump could do all the Dick-Waving he wished, they wouldn’t move.

Even if they weren’t that concerned about Trump lobbing a nuke or two…the prospect of millions of refuges created by a major conventional intervention was almost equally as bad.

You can also be assured that they have came out of meetings with the “Deal Maker” getting most of what they wanted.

I don’t know. I’m kind of curious about that myself. I’m not sure if that info is even commonly available.

And that is just the fire ball. The shock wave is up to a mile!

As we close in on the 100 day mark, it’s worth asking if the anti-establishment crowd that saw Trump as their champion is satisfied or at least happy.

Arguably the second-most powerful person in DC is Jared Kushner, a man barely old enough to run for Congress, and man whose only successes in life are attributable to his birthright. Born into a wealthy northeastern family, he only got into Harvard after his family bought his way in through donations, and he was handed over some of the family business after school. No particular mark of merit in his career up to this point, but he married Ivanka, and now he has the most extensive policy portfolio in the administration - foreign policy, regulatory reform, and the opiod epidemic. Oh, and presumably adding insult to injury if you’re a Republican, he’s a lifelong Northeastern Democrat.

The perfect example of unearned privilege, he is the very essence of “the establishment”, but he’s running a good part of our country while Trump golfs and watched Fox News.

For those that supported/voted for Trump as a shot against the Establishment that got us into this mess, what do you make of this?
