We live in such a contentious political age that nothing would surprise me. It seems that the democrats should have voted fin favor of Trumps first SC pick. Then possibly fight him on the next one, they would look more reasonable. But on the other hand was it reasonable for the republicans to not give Merrick Garland and up or down vote?
Haha thanks its the drugs also I like to think Im a realist and not a sheep
Fiscal conservative social liberal and for whoever legalizes weed and hookers hahaha
This seems to be the common theme I’m seeing with Trump’s base. They are done with him if we go to war with Syria. I’ve seen plenty almost done with him just from the bombing alone.
I’m indifferent about it. If the MSM, Clintons, McCain and Graham all support it, is it really a good thing? Last night was Trump’s best night of coverage so far.
I do not want another war but fuck, he’s gassing fucking kids and slaughtering his own people. This was a test for Trump as all new presidents get and it will be interesting to see the response by Russia and Syria.
To take this a step further, many of his base expect Trump to wipe ISIS off the face of the planet. How is he supposed to do that without going to war in a number of places including Syria?
As far as the bombing goes, I don’t think it will be effective at all. At least he did something I suppose.
He was so against it dating back to 2013. Makes you wonder who made him pull the trigger. I agree, though. It’s just a temporary high. No long term effects will come of this.
I doubt it will result in war. I think it was a shit test and he responded to it in a money meets mouth way - unlike Obama who had to go back and check his “calculus”.
Now any world leaders that had any doubts about his campaign rhetoric regarding killing terrorists families or bombing the shit out of- can know he wasn’t joking.
We should park the Atlantic Fleet in their front yard and see if he wants to do it again.
I liked Raegan’s response better. Put a couple of missiles in Quadafi’s window, he behaves for 30 years.
This is still 100x better than Obama. If you’re going to occupy the super power roll then you should actually flex once in a while. Not go on apology tours.
So if Russia is blackmailing Trump, do they release the info now?
His eyes were probably opened. People tend to forget POTUS has to make some big boy decisions quite often, and then spend the rest of his life living with it.
For all Trump’s flaws, even he would lose sleep if a guy is gassing children to death and he has the power to stop it but doesn’t.
Semi-serious question: what could they possibly release on him that would be so damaging?
I don’t necessarily consider this a positive trait, but I have to acknowledge that a whole bunch of things that would have sunk a traditional candidate during election season didn’t matter one iota to Trump. Hell, many people believe Howard Dean’s campaign died because of one misplaced “whoop” into a microphone that was totally harmless, although it sounded a little silly. Trump has kept trucking on right past the “grab them by the pussy” story and the golden shower story and however many accusations (true or false) about his shady business dealings.
So I am asking, kind of seriously, what they could have on him that would really be damaging.
I was being tounge-in-cheek about the Russia allegations. Some people are absolutely convinced Trump is under Putin’s control. The reason the whole world (UK, Germany the Democrats) liked the missile strike is it shows that he will oppose Russian interests.
And the only serious answer to your question would be direct proof of Trump colluding. Like a recording of Trump himself saying “Hey Vladimir, how bout some help defeating Hillary.” That’s about the only effective blackmail they could have.
At this point I doubt they could even use it. Imagine the long term damage if you reveal the GOP POTUS was in bed with Russia, and we don’t see a GOP run admin for the next 30 years. That’s a scary thought for Russia.
Guess it depends on your point of view. Obama let Russia start rebuilding the USSR and prevent the US from installing missile shields. Why wouldn’t Putin want 30 years of no opposition?
A Republican has been in office 2 months and already he’s firing missiles at Russia’s allies.
The amount of shit HRC gave Putin (which probably inevitably lead to her campaign loss) has shown that Repubs are much much more likely to let Putin’s social issues slide. These are the things that can/will lead to a “revolution” of sorts in Russia.
He’s been bleeding public image support for years (since he’s basically a dictator). If I were him I’d rather have repubs bombing my useless allies than openly speaking out against my entire administration.
What if the strike on Syria was a backchannel deal between Trump and Russia to take the heat off their connection…??? Hmmm, didn’t think about that didcha??
Candidates for the Presidency are against plenty of tings until they win and then the full gravity of any given situation sets in and…they act differently.
Dropping a few bombs those scum isn’t a bad idea. It might deter them. And as long as no American lives are lost I can understand it.
