And that’s the difference. When Obama was telling fibs - real ones and imagined - his sins weren’t some everyone-does-it-gamesmanship-so-get-over-it political misdemeanors, they were evidence of an autocratic socialist demon doing violence to the Constitution and ruining our republic.
Trump starts lying as a matter of course, and we see a complete 180 - darn the luck, and darn these darn politicians and their games, but whaddyagonnado?
Where I’m from, you could be a Goldwater Republican or a Bernie Sanders liberal, and it makes no difference - a liar is a liar, and your politics don’t give you a pass.
Men of integrity can call balls and strikes even-handedly, even in matters of politics. Our problem is a lack of men (and women) with integrity.
Bad immigration policy Isn’t short term, it’s effects are often felt in the long-term. 1st and 2nd generation do worse than the original immigrants For certain sources of immigration .
Anybody else finding it ironic that a guy who ran on being able to make “the best deals” isn’t able to make a deal with his own party on an issue he (along with them) ran on?
Like it or not, the president is attached to this bill. He supported it. He’s also said he will “move on to other things” (no Plan B) if it doesn’t pass, yet repealing the ACA was the cornerstone of his campaign. If this fails, it will look like the republicans can’t govern.
Yeah, those shifty Jews, calling for security funding after a wave of anti-Semitic attacks. Curses, if only I had thought to enrich myself in such a fashion.
Appreciated, but given that Ted Cruz became “establishment” during this election cycle and Newt Gingrich exited the “establishment.” I am somewhat dubious that truth will be a key component of Trump’s defence of any failure of the bill.
I’m seeing a GOP that is one party in name only.
Yet the division appears as real as Dem vs GOP.
This is putting Trump, for whatever his personal deficiencies are, in a no-win situation.
Bitching about him personally and deriding anyone that doesn’t join in for 1000s of posts, adds exactly zero value to anyone here.
How about some constructive dialog like ‘What compromise can be reached between Freedom Caucus and remaining GOP, so there is an actual ‘GOP’ position?’
Edit looks like this starting to be discussed, hooray.
Jeez, who would have thought that simultaneously promising cheaper premiums, universal coverage, coverage for pre-existing conditions, reduced government expenditure AND more free-market reforms would not be an achievable prospect.
Good question. I think something is going to have to give. They can maintain the pre-existing care mandate or they can reduce premiums. They can’t achieve both simultaneously.
Instead of whoring yourself out for likes Do some research on the history of neo Nazis.
Much of it is a hoax perpetrated by jews.
My guess? Anti semitism is at an all-time low in America and groups like the ADL need to scare their base (jews) and the public into giving them money.
