This turned out to be a nothingburger and I have no idea how they talked about it for an hour. She’s awful.
The only upside of you’re anti-Trump is that it puts this issue back in the news and renews a call for him to release his returns. But it was a complete failure to launch on Maddow’s part and an embarrassment.
I think she inadvertently delegitimized the issue at least to some degree, but we’ll see. At this point, I don’t expect to see his returns unless the Russia angle blows up.
Yeah, whenever I watch Madcow I make sure that I’m not eating, or didn’t just get finished eating. Last I checked there were something like 600,000 people watching MSNBC. So, there are obviously others who feel as I do.
Have to disagree with you here. Every other president before Trump served in some kind of public capacity which required levels of financial (and other kinds of) disclosures to ensure lack of conflict of interest, etc. with their public roles. (Think about Senate dislosure rules.)
Trump never went through any of that, and still hasn’t.
He’s been a public personality, but he hasn’t been properly vetted for public service.
It has to do with many of the core constituency of the democrat party. Unemployed, welfare, food stamp recipients. They don’t necessarily keep track of what’s happening on a daily or even monthly basis. When it’s time to vote they go vote for the democrat candidate and that’s pretty much that. One reason Hillary won the major cities.
Granted there are teachers unions, government employees and University Professors and some 20 something’s who watch that crap. But they are in the minority.
This past election cycle proved that even blue collar union folks are turning their backs on the democrat party both statewide and nationally… Logically if one has a reasonably good paying job and believes in gun rights why would they vote for a democrat? (there are other issues as well)
Okay, at least that’s my take on why MSNBC has such low ratings. And I might ad why the media in general are rated so low by the general public.
I had written something smarmy when l posted link originally, but erased.
Working on my business tax filing today (hopefully submit rather than extension), so l already have enough agitation for one day, Cutting into my March Madness research.
Education. Democrats lead by 22 points (57%-35%) in leaned party identification among adults with post-graduate degrees. The Democrats’ edge is narrower among those with college degrees or some post-graduate experience (49%-42%), and those with less education (47%-39%). Across all educational categories, women are more likely than men to affiliate with the Democratic Party or lean Democratic. The Democrats’ advantage is 35 points (64%-29%) among women with post-graduate degrees, but only eight points (50%-42%) among post-grad men.
Generations. Millennials continue to be the most Democratic age cohort; 51% identify as Democrats or lean Democratic, compared with 35% who identify with the GOP or lean Republican. There are only slight differences in partisan affiliation between older and younger millennials. Republicans have a four-point lead among the Silent Generation (47%-43%), the most Republican age cohort.
The survey also finds that most Democrats (60%) and Republicans (52%) say they have benefited from a major entitlement program at some point in their lives. So have nearly equal shares of self-identifying conservatives (57%), liberals (53%) and moderates (53%).
Nail on the head. Imo Trump’s been CRITICIZED more than any other POTUS (in a to-date manner) in history. Criticism =/= vetting by any stretch. Basically to the contrary, as an absurd amount of the criticism is based on his LACK of vetting.
It’s probably more about the social vs private mentality. I have a reasonably good paying job and believe in gun rights, but I’ve never voted for a red POTUS or Governor in my life (granted I’m young enough that I haven’t had a ton of chances).
