Trump: The First 100 Days

I’ll take a president that punches out at 4:00 (for the sake of continuity of this mischaracterization) over that that last guy that stayed awake and suffered long nights figuring out who he was going to fuck next and whether or not he should use lube when he does.

LOL. Raj knows the presidential sleep schedule guys

Could easily make the headline “14 million millennials will not buy insurance next year.”

I do not want the current House Republican plan to be implemented. That being said, it’s easy to see how the Dems plan to spin this.

There’s a lot to work with here.

The POTUS is threatening to primary anyone who doesn’t vote for this. Yeah, his tactical acumen knows no bounds.

The problem is that every entitlement program grows more popular as time goes on, fiscal viability be damned. A single payer system is inevitable if this isn’t rolled back.

If Trump thinks the tea-party candidates can sell this after 6 years of promising a straight repeal, he is high on crack.

This is looking to be a disaster. Tom Cotton says it’s DOA in the Senate, and there’s no reason to think he’s bluffing. They’ve been promising root-and-branch repeal for years and this is simply ObamaCare-lite with a windfall for the wealthy - which simultaneously has the potential to infuriate both the right-wingers and the populist base.

And who is Trump going to primary these GOP opponents of the bill with exactly? Candidates from the left?

I have no idea, but if it goes through as is, Trump has completely flubbed a central campaign issue within 100 days.

Complete joke.

What is even more frustrating is that Ryan and Trump are acting as if this is the only possible alternative to the status quo. There is whole spectrum of legislative options ON ANY ISSUE. It is a patent untruth that this is the only option.

Just once, I’d like to see conservatives legislate as they promised and accept the consequences. What is the worst that could happen? At this rate they are going to lose the House anyway, why not go down after delivering a 6 year promise?

LS:

The thing that I don’t understand is that what the GOP/Ryan rolled out is something that you would expect from someone caught “off-guard” or unprepared…or worse yet, not understanding “how difficult Health Care is”.

After six or so years of literally making the ACA a campaign issue that swept many into Congress, governorships and State Houses…this is what they came up with?

I am sincere when I say I just don’t get it.

Now that Obamacare is at the 50% or so popularity rating they are folding. It is the tyranny of the status quo. But I don’t get it either. Do they really think this won’t blow up in their face? The ONE thing they can do to potentially mitigate the blowback is do what they promised to do.

Nearly every district/election has someone looking to overthrow the sitting GOP/Lib congressman/woman. All you have to do is tweet about the sitting guy/gal and throw money at the new person.

Trump saying “Nobody knew healthcare could be so complicated” is a tremendous achievement.

Really? Nobody knew healthcare could be so complicated? Au contraire, Donald; we all know that health care is extremely complicated.

But hey, at least the AHCA has fewer pages than the ACA! Problem solved!

I much prefer actually having a plan than some of the dumb republican ideas to repeal and let things sort themselves out.

Crashing the health insurance industry by repealing without a replacment with a GOP controlled presidency, house, and senate. Pretty easy to point a finger.

Trump tried this with Paul Ryan and McCain (that I can remember, maybe Rubio too?). Didn’t work.

I think he is using whatever leverage or scare tactics he has, regardless of the consequences. Even if I agree with him on the issue, Trump’s tactics are pathetic.

Trump is to use his trump card (huehuehue) when it comes to this. Previously he sent tweets to put pressure on said people, not to replace them. Imagine the following tweet with his base in a red state.

“Historically WEAK seems to actively working with the democrats to make as little progress as possible. It’s time to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. Vote for !”

Sure, but who would primary as a Republican and how? How is that framed? Joe Challenger is ready to take on the incumbent Republican obstructionist right-winger by saying he’s more inclined to be ok with the socialized health care program approach the GOP has been campaigning against since 2009?

Trump needs to get rid of the slithery snake Ryan
