I think he was referring to the fact that she was referring to a meeting room full of HBCU (historically black college and university) presidents…schools that were created out of necessity related to segregation. She tried to tie that into school choice. Need we remember the national guard enforced integrations of Ole Miss and Alabama. It was dishonorable. The rest of your points are valid.
Yep, MoreMuscle…that one got a HUGE “WTF???” out of me!
HBCU’s were a great example of CHOICE???
How about the fact that just about the only thing a Black Person could do at Colleges and Universities in the U.S. was cut grass; clean toilets; and clean up vomit in Fraternity and Sorority Houses?
Agreed. But I have a feeling this is all going right out the window in the next few days. There’s been no pivot in over a year-and-a-half. I’m not sure why we should expect one after one speech…that was clearly not written by him.
As it stands now (it’s about 3AM here…and there is no indication that there is a TWEET that cancels everything out)…Trump kind of “righted the Ship”…
I tell you what, though…I bet there are a lot of Republicans…and certainly Trumps staff and inner circle…who breathed a deep, DEEP sigh of relief after the speech…
Republicans are in a phase where they’re willing to do literally anything as long as Obama did it first. I doubt many GoP standards will survive the transition.
I know it is to you, but that is not reality. Don’t forget your stance ingores the multiple versions of his immigration policy making it impossible to be “correct” as it doesn’t have form yet. Whatever it ends up being I highly doubt it will include deporting ~11 million people as he initially proposed. Although I’m guessing you can’t recognize that through your bromance glasses.
Yes it can be, but not with Trump. A fiscal conservative supporting an agenda that is similar to an agenda they opposed would by hypocritical.
Keeping in mind many of the guests brought by congress and the president are to gain political points, Trump’s guest made everyone melt. Many will point out that they were used as puppets and that may be, but motivation aside I think Trump made a lot of people happy by showcasing their stories. I was particularly proud of the president when introducing Megan Crowley and explaining how the private sector makes advances in medicine and saves lives.
Ah, so to you the most important issue of our time is race and maintaining white majority. Thanks for clarifying, but I’ll stick to the policy issues regardless of what skin color or origin of birth the person has.
If this speech was “real” and “from the heart”…and not some “political calculation” made by the Trifecta of Bannon, Trump and Priebus…then “Hail to the Chief”…
Otherwise, the much deserved “bump-and-glow” of the speech will not survive Trump’s next tweet…
I started by saying that fiscal conservatives supporting spending that they previously opposed with Obama would be hypocritical. Your counter was that it didn’t matter because maintaining a white majority is the issue of our time.
I normally would be surprised, but through your posting history I know your distorted view would most likely turn the conversation into something along those lines.
Serious question. As “white people” are on the decline with no end in sight, do you see any way to save the GoP if it really is reliant on a white majority?
