Trump/Paul and the First Amendment

I tend to agree with you on this, but probably not the best example…

I would probably have cleaned house right from the start. John Adams learned that lesson painfully late. Too late.
I would not keep anybody from the opposing party in primary or influential positions.
To do so is just a distraction you will have to deal with later. And Trump is learning on the job, so it’s not a shock to me in the sense that he probably recently found out he could actally take access from people he would consider hostile to him.

And yeah the football thing was rediculous. I wouldn’t have acknowledged it one way or the other as there are times silence is golden. It’s the player’s right as citizens so he should not have said anything.

I just happen to disagree with the players because the flag, the anthem is way bigger than a few bad cops.
That’s not to say there isn’t problems with law enforcement that need to be addressed and have not been, sufficiently. But the whole country doesn’t suck even if parts of it do. Besides it was last year.

At this point I expect Trump to say rediculous shit, so I don’t get wound up about it.
I am sure not being on social media keeps my blood pressure down.

I have family popping veins on twitter and shit like that. I have tried to point out that the only thing they have managed to accomplish is to shorten their life spans and decrease their quality of health.
It got to the point where I had to say I don’t want to hear a peep about it, good bad or indifferent.
I would literally rather listen to radio static then hear about someone’s twitter war.

That could be.

We’ll see. He just didn’t seem like someone who would push for Security Clearance revocations simply (Huckabee’s/Trump’s words) because Trump is butt-hurt because of their criticism of him. While very “Trumpian”; I was just caught off guard by Paul being the one who suggested, and pushed the idea, to Trump.

My bad.

Not bad at all. Could be that Paul and Trump are… colluding.

Ba dump tss.

I could see him being the “Heir Apparent” to Hannity…or at least getting one of those coveted FOX Prime time slots.

I think that the whole thing is a ruse. Unless they are working in consultant or advisory positions (which is totally possible) there should be nothing to revoke. It would have no effect what so ever.

It would be a great distraction from a real story though, and not out of character at all.

I wouldn’t be surprised to hear of a bill by Paul hitting congress soon.

Ben’s doing just fine. You know you’re ok when someone is willing to spend $600 K on your security detail alone.
Aside from being a sad fact and state of affairs, you’re doing ok if that happens.
He doesn’t need FOX and FOX doesn’t need him.
I would not be surprised to see Megan Kelley come back to save her torpedo-ing career.
She got paid and became irrelevant.

It could just be noise for the sake of noise or to cover for something else about to happen.

He has kids so I don’t think so.

Not that irrelevant it seems.

It’s not always a question of “need”, pat.

Sometimes it’s just expanding ones reach and influence, and trying new things.
He seems like a brilliant mind, who fervently believes and defends what he feels to be the truth.

And you’re right; he’s done okay for himself at a young age…and will probably make more money than I’ll ever make…

To be clear. Are you comparing Shapiro with Hannity?

Either way, I don’t see it. He’s too hard on Trump to work for Fox. Plus, he’s doing just fine with his website and podcast.

@Mufasa, I’m with you on this one–I find Senator Paul’s stance on this issue out of character and difficult to explain.

Maybe his neighbor who attacked him did more damage than originally thought.

No more than them both being Conservative commentators, broadcasters, writers and firebrands…relentless and unyielding in their opinions.

I don’t listen enough to either to make comparisons beyond that.

Gotcha.

I’ll bite.

In what way?

Sorry, @norse84!

“Gotcha” as in “Oh…I see!”

(Trump has me jumpy! lol!)

haha yes. Trump has everyone jumpy.

Well, maybe it’s want on my part. I don’t want FOX to be the one all of conservativesism.
