I mean, you’re welcome to your opinion. And, if there is a heaven you needn’t attend, I suppose.
We’re talking about an all powerful god though. Who’s to say he wouldnt remove your ability to experience negative emotions upon walking through the gates?
Perfections by God’s standards though, not ours. He can even control what you care about in the afterlife, after all.
Also, see revelation 21. It describes heaven as a place with no pain, or sadness. Which I believe to be untrue if not everybody gets in.
But then it’s not really you if your thoughts are not your own.
It kind of defeats giving us free will in the first place, right?
Well, mourning or pain. Because they will be comforted by God himself. Not sure that rules out some level of missing someone. But, I’m not sure what you’re arguing by pointing out that heaven isn’t for some? We already know that. Maybe your not and just want to point it out? I guess I’m not sure.
Okay…most of you have been here long enough to know that religious discussion can really take a topic off the rails…
This is about King Trump: Savior of the World.
Can you start a “Heaven and Hell”? thread (or whatever name you would like?)
I mean, if you create it with religiously charged language it’s just oh so juicy.
Says who? God decides what reality is in heaven.
Oh absolutely.
Lol then the thread might as well die off. It doesn’t have a whole lotta legs
If some will not make it into Heaven, have you considered the possibility that all(pleasurable/desirable) earthly relationships are but a poor substitute for God’s presence/Heaven?
No, because I haven’t been presented verifiable evidence to believe in the Bible or the god of the Bible.
That works too…
Alright I can make this thread relevant. Let’s do this.
If Trump truly is doing the work of God, like some of his people claim, that exponentially increases the odds you’ll run into him in heaven.
But then we’re back to how not perfect it is lolol
Thanks for that important information, since my question was in response to your, “if I believed the Bible.”
I’m more than happy to go 100 rounds on flaws with religion. Might as well make it a sport.
But if we’re operating under the assumption that God actually exists, the concept of heaven being immune to any flaws we can think of seems pretty straightforward
It’s because u asked if I considered facts about heaven. My answer was no, and followed by my reasons why.
It MUST be Trump’s Will that his thread continue the way it’s going!
MAGA!!!
Can only bash the guy so much when there isn’t even anyone here taking the stance to argue with.
Except that one guy who was probably a troll and never commented again lol
And then
That seems a bit close minded to me.
It would’ve been much more consistent if you’d never had any thoughts about contradictions about heaven or hell since the whole thing is unverifiable in the first place, but you have claimed to have found contradictions
You just haven’t considered that possibility
Further, you refuse to do so
Fair enough
Of course you can shift to the whole “lack of verifiable evidence” thing, but that’s not the real reason that you’d never considered that possibility before - right?
On topic:
“Jesus said, ‘My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.’”-John 18:36
Off topic:
Yes. This.
Of course it’s unverifiable but that doesn’t mean you can’t look at what the book says or what people think about what the book says. It’s perfectly reasonable to say “if it’s true as people say about this then this part also doesn’t make sense.” Although if you were saying we can’t understand then I can buy that. Most everyone has come to different conclusions anyways even if they believe in a higher power.
I can’t rationalize someone letting humans spend eternity being tortured if they have the power to stop it. And then to try and say this guy is not just all powerful but all good and loving?
But we haven’t stopped to think about what Bo Burnham says. Maybe God doesn’t want any of us anyways. Why spoil a good thing with humans? Worth a watch for believers and non believers because it’s funny.
