Well, guys like The Pharoah (probably Ramses II) and Nebuchadnezzar II as figures doing the “Will of G-d” by punishing us for being assholes/abandoning our faith/bringing about good future events. Even Hitler and Haman, for some.
I assume the question you meant to ask is more like, is Trump viewed like Cyrus the Great or Alexander the Great – powerful gentile rulers who do good and benevolent things for the Jewish people.
And the answer to that is, yes, some do. Some pretty seriously. Most pretty stupid.
Hence, the reference to gematria. (Google it — the most famous gentile example is “The Number of the Beast”.) There are all sorts of efforts, of varying degrees of credibility, to compare Trump to notable leaders.
Note, in general, I consider gematria complete hokum.
Again they had about 15 other people to choose from. And they flocked to the multiple times divorced, porn star paying, daughter lover, sexual assaulter, overall asshole.
Then again sexual assault probably shouldn’t be put down. The religious have no issue voting for Roy Moore or going to “houses of worship” that prey on kids.
Considering he had the lowest approval rating of anyone in history before the election I find the too beatable part hard to believe.
Again I think Republicans ran the one person who could leave to a candidate as flawed and unpopular as H. Clinton. Where are the evangelicals standing up and saying we won’t support someone who behaves like Trump? They could support someone to primary him. They could push hard to get him to change his rhetoric (might be fruitless but it is doing something).
If it makes you feel any better I know a few of them personally.
My BiLs mom is the shining example of a genuine Christian. Like she’s so awesome it’s kinda gross. This is also the same person who believed Obama was literally the Antichrist.
She has sworn off Trump post stormy, and even claimed she asked for forgiveness for even voting for him.
That’s true. Shouldn’t be hard for evangelicals to ignore that the payment happened when he was Republican. Or everything else with him. If you can ignore science what’s one more thing?! (just a joke not looking to start a debate).
Well, the hush money – believe it or not – is legal, despite what Michael Cohen pled to. It’s perfectly legal to use personal money to keep someone buttoned up for personal reasons. (The fact that it also helped the campaign is not legally relevant – mixed purpose expenditures are legal.)
That’s what Cohen gets for using Lanny Davis as his lawyer. Davis is about Davis, not his clients.
Where you get in trouble on this is using campaign money to keep people quiet – e.g., John Edwards using campaign money to keep his baby mamma quiet.
And the sex and infidelity etc. As well as basically admitting to sexual assault and wanting to screw his daughter. Being a general bully. Being racist.
Remember those WWJD bracelets? If Jesus came back he’d pretty much solely bash McCain. Jesus hated people who got captured. Trump might say “I like people who come back to life, not pussies like McCain who stay dead.”
So you all are assuming that trump will win the same blue wall states that he won before? I don’t see it. If Biden is smart and I think he is he will add Beto to his ticket. That will put Texas in play. If they win Texas, it’s over.
