Trump: Historical Religious Figure?

Please don’t claim I think this lol.

Ah yes, King Cyrus aka Shah Kouresh - The Great King, King of Persia, King of Anshan, King of Media, King of Babylon, King of Sumer and Akkad, and King of the Four Corners of the World is back.

It seems that all those prayers in Persepolis at the tomb of the Great King have paid off. MIGA?

Is he a doctor the same way that Gene Simmons is a doctor? Or Johnny Fever?

And why can’t God use someone who is working on a cure for cancer or ending famines in poor nations? I would ask about a cure for AIDS but we know why God invented AIDS.

Does this also mean that God is American?

Nah he’s Israeli like his chosen people.

Every other generation in American history going back to before the Constitution has had a fascination with the End Times, thinking they were actually living in it. So this generation of hard core believers keep looking at the news in the context of Revelations so they have to keep shoving the news into that framework, no matter how many squares they have to squeeze and crumple into circles to make it work out in their heads.

I didn’t know that, but I’m pretty sure that’s how it should be.
Maybe a more calm “and that too shall come to pass” type of attitude than what I remember seeing in my lifetime

Are you calling David Bowie a liar?

And making Trump some type of religious figure has to be one of the absolute worst examples of that I have ever seen. A few additional points:

  1. What other option do many of these fervent religious supporters of Trump have to justify supporting a man who represents the exact opposite of everything they profess to believe?

Make him an instrument in the hands of God…problem solved.

  1. I never knew; until I did a little more research after reading Pompeo’s comment; how deep and pervasive this “Instrument of God” issue is in Trump’s base.

We have discussed this. How do you win against not only a symbol…but a religious one?

You don’t. You don’t even have a reasonable discussion about the man.

  1. Do any of you think that a Narcissist like Trump does does not read and know that he is viewed by many in his base as a religious figure? Then I have a Kibbutz on the Golan Heights I would like to sell you.

Trump has been in the Public Eye most of this Life. Not ONCE (that I am aware of) did he show even an inkling of support for Conservative Causes and certainly not the struggles of Israel. (Unless he perhaps wanted to put a Trump Tower in Tel-Aviv?)

I guess the answer is that since becoming President he is “Born Again”?

If the man starts wearing a kippah/yarmulke? I’m done…completely done…

Is the MSM doing this these days? I’ve never even heard of people doing it until this thread

Even the original quote makes absolute sense from a predestination believer. Everything is God’s will.

If everything is God’s will then Trump being anti Iran is also God’s will. But it also means Obama getting the ACA was God’s will. Bwop

100% spot on. His lemmings think he’s changed his world views at age 70. Him doing so while running in the GOP primary is merely coincidence. The fake right should Google “5 times Trump praised socialized medicine” and see what they voted for. One thing I’m certain of: “value voters” and Trump’s base are as brainwashed and stupid as Obama supporters.

You should know by now that the MSM are a bunch of Heathen Liberals with a one-way ticket to Hell…

(…and Hillary is a Succubus, of course…)

Right but are FoxNews or even Infowars saying this?

Japanese culture has lied to me quite a bit if this is true

Nobody wants that. Absolutely nobody.

As honorable and proper as they seem, the Japanese can be very mischievous and spiteful.

They’re the ones who started all of the “me Chinese, me play joke…” stuff.

I consider myself a Christian, and I live in SD, a mostly red state.

Those of my family members who also consider themselves Christians, and myself, do not support Trump at all. I really don’t interact with many other Christians beyond the ones I see in church (my friends, coworkers, and those who I see on a regular basis mostly aren’t religious), but from what I can tell, they almost all love Trump.

As a Christian, I honestly have NO idea how they do. Politics aside, I literally cannot wrap my mind around claiming to be a follower of Jesus Christ, and also thinking Trump is doing what’s “approved” of. At all. I don’t get it.

I really have nothing helpful to add to the discussion surround the original post, just that, in my personal opinion (as a Christian), I don’t agree with this:

and I don’t think every Christian feels this way either. Unfortunately, most do. And unfortunately, that majority are the ones who most think of when they think of Christians.

I’ll add this in, just for the sake of it:

I have a very diverse family. “White” (Scandinavian, mostly), Native American, Mexican, Pakistani, Chinese, Italian, Somoan, conservative, liberal, wealthy, middle class, below the poverty line, gay, straight, Christian, Catholic, Muslim, atheist, etc…those whom I love and care for come from all sorts of backgrounds, and I really don’t care. There’s lots of crime, addiction, mental health issues, histories of abuse, and there’s also lots of college attending, successful business types with seemingly perfect lives. Lots of different people.

I don’t agree with homosexuality, but I know I’m not any better of a person than those of my family who are gay, and they’re perfectly wonderful people, so I treat them no differently, and show absolutely no judgement or hate towards them.

I’m biracial, so having any color of skin doesn’t matter at all to me (even white, haha).

I don’t agree with Islam, or with being an atheist, but again, those who I know who do live their lives according to their religion (or lack of one) are free to do so. I’m not in charge of them and their decisions, and I care more about their character than I do where they worship (or don’t), so I really don’t feel the need to judge, call out, or show any negative reactions to them.

Anyway, sorry for getting off topic, but just wanted to let those who disagree with, or who have bad experiences with Christians, church, or religion in general that not all are the same. My apologies for the hypocritical, judgemental, hateful ones; they make my blood boil at times, but some of us really don’t care who you are or where you came from, just that you’re a good person and hopefully trying to do some good in the world.

You have added plenty to the discussion, my Friend…

Thank you!

Thank you for sharing friend.

I’m a Christian zealot according to few (perhaps most) here. Secular hedonism is all I see in Trump. The last thing I think of is “religious figure” when it comes to Trump. Sadly, the Dems are too repulsive for me to use as an anti Trump vote.

You must have a hard time voting for anyone? Most politicians have skeletons in the closet, although trump has a 5 car garage full.
Is there any national candidate that you like?

I don’t think “most” do. I think, however, that the most vocal and loud ones do. Big difference…the loud minority tends to get much more attention than the quiet ones going about their lives.
