No reason to lie about it? Did you actually read what I wrote?

Oh terrible terrible, the truth was told. Dude this was not national security, it was party politics. Are you as worried that the Russians also have national security info from Hillary’s Emails? Or did that not happen?

Not really he did not have reason. The stay silent option has always been there, and he has done great harm to a Republican administration. So he has zero record of party bias. If he wanted a pardon he would have contacted Obama privately and got it for his silence. No he has no reason to lie

So this is what PWI becomes when quality posters leave…

So you all are upset an enemy of the U.S. hacked some servers and spilled the truth about the DNC and its shipwreck of a candidate? It’s a good thing the U.S. doesn’t engage in cyber warfare and has never meddled in the elections of foreign countries.

Oh, wait. Looks like you’re spilling some sour grapes from your high horse there. Careful you don’t fall off.

Seriously, what have we been doing in the middle east for a couple of decades?

Using subversion and military might to bring down their heads of state and re-install new ones.

Russian hackers toppled an already unsteady candidate by letting the truth be known. And exposed the extremely careless nature of Clinton and the people around her to an even greater extent.

They did us a favor with her. Might feel like a kick in the nuts right now, but it could not have happened if she had not let it. I’d liken it to learning to keep your guard up by getting a sharp right from Tyson.

Assange has generally made a habit of simply not commenting on his sources. If his only interest was making sure that the spigot didn’t get turned off, he need only continue in that vein of not commenting. I still don’t see why he would affirmatively lie about the source of his leaks.

That doesn’t mean the Russians didn’t hack some stuff. I just am not sure that there weren’t other sources at work.

Verne he has every reason to lie about it.

I really hope republicans don’t spend the next 4 years trying to justify Trumps bromance with Putin…

I’m really banking on the fact that with the election over it will get called for what it is

5 different foreign entities hacked Hillary’s email. A number of countries could have given wikileaks the DNC emails assuming it’s not individual hackers

People are just hung up on Russia because it’s what Democrats have been pushing

And pretty much all members of Putin’s inner circle have publicly (and triumphally) admitted it on Russian-language media. So far only a snipped in WaPo and The Guardian as far as Western media are concerned.

So you consider US of A on par with Iraq and Libya? Just curious.

A grin and a pat on the back - ā€œDon’t worry Vladimir, you actually did us a favorā€

This is not a Hillary/DNC issue - it’s the concept of a geopolitical rival interfering in US elections.

Considering the obvious penchant of foreign governments for hacking our institutions and attempting to interfere in our government, I’m glad we elected the candidate who hasn’t accepted hundreds of millions of dollars from foreign donors. And doesn’t have a history of being extremely careless with American secrets and interests.

If it was the Russians who hacked Hillary’s campaign and server, that’s not on Trump. It’s Hillary who has shown blatant disregard for reasonable care and due diligence when entrusted with protecting American institutions, security, and democracy.

Why would Assange lie about it instead of saying nothing? He’s often refused to comment on sources.

Mind saying what they are? This man stuck in a room in the Honduran embassy. Stuck there because he will be arrested on trumped up rape charges from Sweden. Charges that carry a very light sentence (2 years) but Sweden will extradite him to the USA where he will be charged for his release of US military documents.

His motivation would have been to get him to hold those documents until after then election. For a pardon from Obama.

And the bottom line, those leaks were the truth. The truth helped to keep a criminally corrupt pile of shit out of the white house

You are calming that releasing the truth is interfering. The truth try to remember that no matter what, it was the truth.

I read the WaPo quote and it says ā€œmay have helpedā€ - that means maybe. You have described it as if they’re openly bragging about leaking the emails, that’s not what the article says. Secondly it doesn’t even say how. For instance, they could have just protected Wikileaks from being taken down or assassinated by the DNC and just allowed Wikileaks to release the emails unscathed. Who knows.

There once was a time that the USA sent the real news (the truth) to the Soviet Union (Russia). We would not let the Soviet Union get away with lying to its people. Yes we would have effected their elections if their elections were even close to honest ones. Now I see Americans upset over the truth getting to the American people.
