Trump Cabinet Predictions / Suggestions

I hope you’re joking.

Are you describing Trump?

Right, because all GOP candidates the last 20 years have had the same position on all issues…

@Drew1411
If you can’t see Romney as perhaps the most flaggrant flip flop politician in our history, you should research it. He is a chameleon. However, his policies as Governor traveled very parallel to Obama.

Re RINOs - did you read my very next sentence? Charatan, troubling?

In history? Really? Please detail how.

As far as being like Obama or flip-flopping, regarding a specific position? I agree he was close to Obama on healthcare, but with about a 10-second wikipedia research I can find that he balanced his budget and made cuts right away. That is VASTLY different than Obama who promised, and did, spend a lot right away. A quick read also reveals he on opposite sides of same-sex marriage, an issue you highlighted.

I don’t feel like I need to read much further as I thought it was clear during the campaign that they would’ve governed very differently. I’m not a fan of the RINO nonsense, its always an argument of extremes where if you don’t agree with the perfect conservative position you must be a far-left liberal. Its ridiculous. There is a lot of middle ground, and I have no problem with a politician taking issues at face value and not knee-jerking to toe the partisian position no matter what.

Friend there are 1000s of internet pages on this subject. You should read a couple of these, from either liberal or conservative viewpoints.

I never said he didn’t flip flop, only am questioning if he has more than anyone else in history.

Would you say he has flip flopped more or less than Trump?

im kinda laughing because i think youre dickin with me :grinning:

in history? probably
will trump catch him? maybe.

i would hate to have to document either one in fine detail

haha no, please don’t, only making a point that your statement can’t really be justified. Looking throughout history and all political candidates and their previous vs. current positions? good luck.

Pick Romney’s worst 2, or 3 flip-flops. Are they worse than Trump’s on immigration, Iraq war, abortion, supporting Hillary (and inviting her to his wedding) and saying they’re great people, defending Bill Clinton’s accusers…etc. Those are just off the top of my head.

None of the above. It is the fact that he is a very politically experienced individual who has accomplished much in his life in business as well as politics. I feel that he would have been a strong candidate for SOS.

Also, nothing your list precludes him from becoming a good SOS. A Secretary of State must have a certain set of skills which are particular to that specific job. I don’t know if Trump’s pick has them…he may and I am not against the appointment. But, I do know that Mitt Romney does possess those skills.

Is “they” supposed to mean me? You did say that right after another poster disagreed with my choice as Romney for SOS.

I’m sure that doesn’t bother you as to date Trump has flipped on several issues. Like I always say there is not one politician who will not say what he/she must to gain office…both parties.

Get your 4oz’ers out.
We are already duking here over fine details and hyperbole. :7)

No question–I have met and known many politicians and every single one of them (many fine people) will say or do whatever it takes to win and then get reelected. It’s part of the game.

How much do I want to screen capture the definition of hyperbole to detail how the current discussion doesn’t exactly fit that description

So you are acknowledging this as fact, not as hyperbole?

edit Seems like a flip flop actually and laughing as typing that

Do you want to know my current or previous position?

They all follow the same pattern. Cave to the Democrats and betray their constituents with minor differences in stances between them.

Ridiculous premise, you believe president Trump, president Cruz, and president Kasich would all be the same as president Bush?

Do you believe every democratic position betrays their consituents? Do Trump’s democratic positions betray all of his voters?

You’re talking in bland generalities that add no value. Every issue can be evaluated independently, and that is a good thing. People within the same party can have different opinions on specific issues even when they agree 80-90% of the time.

I prefer to let these discussions flow where they do without endless minutiae and hair splitting.

While excess use of superlative is wearing (Trump,) and broad brushing can give the wrong conclusion, every person I know will use phrases like: best hamburger ever, most kick ass car, hottest woman - without being expected to display a peer reviewed 50 page documentation, that led to the statement.

I totally agree and that is what makes this place at times quite difficult. Suffice it to say that Romney is a big time flip flopper…You said biggest ever but I think we all know what you meant…well at least most of us.
