This bill is surely DOA, but it introduces the novel idea that local residents ought to have some say in whether or not their town’s demographics become dramatically transformed by pumping it full of migrants.
It’s the same idea that Martha’s Vineyard had, where they said “thanks, but no thanks” to the migrants who were trafficked there.

Also the school budget vote is today. I’m curious if our city councilors, school committee members and superintendent are busy shuttling people who need translators to vote, which is how they got it to pass on round 3 last year, after being voted down twice.

All of Maines largest school districts are of a similar ideological bent. If serious changes to our public schools don’t happen soon, an entire generation of functionally illiterate children will be adults in society, taught by a legion of JoAnna St Germains.
Aside from the cultish wealth extraction scam elements of this political movement, it is obviously very successful at making people believe they are the hero in their own story, but you need a villain for that.

I was building a grocery store in an area for people who ran all of the other ones out with theft, robbery, and murder- but they were “entitled” to one. So the windows were shot out 3 times with 7.62 in the time it took to build.
We had orders for no overtime, leave before sunset, no ifs ands or buts.

There was some kind of thing where the requirements for public housing include access to public transportation and food shopping.
So my county had to pay to have a grocery store (several , actually) built in given locations that just happen to be bullet ridden shit holes that house multi-generational prison inmates and welfare queens.

The difference in the way Biden was treated (to beg for increased oil production, which was denied) when he went to Saudi Arabia vs the way Trump is being treated is STARK; starting with the Crown Prince (fearless leader…) personally going to the airport to greet Trump at the bottom of the airplane’s stairs, personally showing Trump around, parading Trump around led by a bevy of the purest bred strain of Arabian horses.
