To address your previous two posts, it seems to me that you believe that, on the balance of things, Democrat governance is best at the federal level. You seem to believe that opening the border and flooding Lewiston with migrants using public funds, sanctioning transgenderism, enforcing the vague and adaptable principles of DEI, along with other Democrat policies like “harm reduction” that floods our streets with biohazardous needles are part of the “greater good”. Would you say that’s accurate?
Maine is a debtor state, and most of the policies I just listed are also supported by federal tax dollars, not just local and state taxes.
Did you really miss the redefinition of Title IX under Biden, and it’s reversal under Trump? At a state level in Maine, you cannot teach in public school unless you’re prepared to teach children that they might be, can be, and should be members of the opposite sex, and then modify your vocabulary in a way that suggests you believe it, too.
I’m sorry, but I don’t believe Laurel Hubbard is a woman. I started a thread about it like 8 years ago, and here we are today. Children in Maine districts can face penalties for “misgendering”. Just last week a toddler in the UK was suspended for it. This is all very real, and happening where I live.
It is enforced speech. The government is compelling people to say things they don’t believe in, no different than requiring a teacher to say that Jesus was God’s only son.
Vast amounts of public funds are extracted by taxes to advance this belief.
It is the very-definition of a state-sanctioned belief.
