Trump 2025 - Resuming The National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity (Part 1)

I agree, that does seem that way. Like it could be that… but it could be something else that’s nothing like that.

I don’t really see that kind of rhetoric coming from here. It’s mostly “look, we’ve got it handled”

My main concern was really the collateral annoyance from the helicopters for the people who had nothing to do with anything one way or another. Just unnecessarily disrupting the sleep of people miles away.

I mean I also am mildly concerned how hard it will be to get to the hospital a couple blocks away since I’ve had a couple appointments and procedures there.

I used to be somewhat tuned in to Portland, ME and know a lot of people from there. I worked for Hannaford (ADUSA) for the 16 years. From what I gathered, Portland and the surrounding suburbs are the heart of tourism in the state, with some wealthy Bostonians commuting and summering nearby. I don’t think politicians are dumb enough to import thousands of Somalis to the cash cow. You know, “I’m a leftist but ship them up to Lewiston, not in my back yard” type of stuff.

My family was too working class for that. We drove 4 hours to Hampton Beach, NH.

This is the dumbest garbage I had ever heard. And it seemed to have legs.

Mostly peaceful protest could be just over 50% of the crowd was peacefully protesting and it would be an accurate assessment.

When a protest turns violent it is grossly in the wrong. How would your wife like to know that you are a mostly faithful husband?

I would take that up with the people who caused the need for the helicopters.

Their names and organizations can be found on the documents they filed to carry out their lawful permitted protests.

I’m a pretty light sleeper and its not good when I’m woken up by any kind of noise or disturbance. Like, a few weeks ago when a party was letting out at my neighbors. Someone leaving blasted their horn at 12:45 am.

So I went outside and immediately addressed it with the neighbor.

It has been very quiet since.

Or that my mistress was a little bit pregnant!

There were things that got out of hand in June. It’s been months since then, during which there have been a couple dozen or less protesters a night. Who clearly have nothing better to do at night.

Yet suddenly it becomes a “war zone” and everyone here is very confused. Until that happened, pretty much nobody even noticed or cared.

Which then obviously triggered a bunch more people. I honestly didn’t have any opinion on ICE prior to a week or so ago. I still don’t really.

I just don’t like the lying about the city, and realizing there’s people who believe them.

Yeah, I get that. I only partly believe what I see. Cuz theres always more to it than what is being shown.

But most of what I’ve seen out of your town is nuisance behavior, which is then handled as such. Even panned out there’s only 30 or 40 people total, then crowding the gates.

I think that ICE and federal facilities nationwide are and should be on alert though. One well timed, well placed cocktail or improvised device can cause all kinds of harm.

I don’t disagree. That sounds like a riot or a mob.

But if a couple people decide to skirt the line and immediately get arrested, and there’s no further violence, I don’t see why that can’t be called “mostly peaceful”.

No riot has been declared since June. Yes it happened. Then it didn’t. And it hasn’t.

I guess I also want to distinguish that I don’t mean “peaceful” in the same way the daytime protests have been peaceful.

There’s a lot of verbal abuse. But there’s no physical violence. I’m not ok with that behavior either. Peaceful is maybe not the right word, and nonviolent is probably better. But it’s the difference of someone up in your face versus taking a swing.

You are very wrong in your assessment. Portland is roughly comparable in public school demographics and language count, and thy have their fair share of gunfire and formerly rare violence, albeit probably not as severe as Lewiston.

They actually adopted a lot of revolutionary socialist policies before Lewiston, including the low barrier shelter concept and related harm reduction concepts that turn public spaces into John Carpenter movie scenes.

Portland has elected a number of open Democratic Socialist politicians, including former mayor Ethan Strimling.

Portland also gets about 80 percent of state general assistance funds, which helps mask a certain amount of the dysfunction, but it is still quite easy to spot for anyone who has lived here for a decade or longer.

If anyone’s property is damaged, “peaceful” has no place in the description.

I agree.

I haven’t heard or read of that happening since June here. I could be wrong though. Have you heard otherwise?

I did see video of agents tearing down a sign that wasn’t theirs. But I don’t know if that sign was there legally to begin with. I’m not saying that to point fingers, but that’s the only thing I’ve seen in the last couple weeks that could remotely pass as property damage.

Otherwise surrounding property seems undamaged. Even the hospital down the street doesn’t even see the need for metal detectors or security guards at the doors (unlike a few others in town).

Here’s a story from Andy Ngo that remarkably profiles a guy who has a child porn conviction here in Maine but moved across the country to Portland, OR to be an Antifa thug. He stabbed a black conservative livestreamer during the 2020 BLM riots and was just spared jail time by Oregon’s courts.

First I thought you guys were talking about 6th of Jan., but apparently there has been some antifa -protests going on.

All violent protests are extremely wrong.

As soon as someone’s property is damaged peaceful protests end at that moment. Your 1st Amendment rights does not sanction destruction of anyone’s property. And I don’t care how minor the damage is.

Agree.

I’m still wondering what the 250 FBI agents - not informants - were there to do on January 6th. They obviously weren’t there to stop it from happening in any way whatsoever.

In related news, additional documents have been declassified today with the completely un-shocking news that Ukrainian officials were perplexed and bewildered by Joe Biden’s corrupt behavior when he was VP and his son was sitting on the board of Burisma.

During his remarks, Johnson accused the “extreme right” of refusing to accept the results of the Civil War, when slavery was abolished.

“They have repeatedly called for a rematch, but in the coming weeks, we will use this opportunity to build greater resistance. Chicagoans are clear that militarizing our troops in our city as justification to further escalate a war in Chicago will not be tolerated,” he said.

“The right wing in this country wants a rematch of the Civil War,” Johnson repeated during the news conference.

The mayor of Chicago in not only a seething racist, but he is very, very dumb. This is the kind of rhetoric he is publicly spewing, and its yet again another of many examples of the left planting these seeds of lies in the minds of their followers. Exactly the kind of rhetoric which makes these crazy left wing supporters decide to try to execute the president, or assassinate Kirk, or carry out other violence on anyone they “think” is a fascist, a nazi, or some other “evil/scary” buzzword uttered by the left. As we’ve seen, this shit can get very real, real quick.

Now some leftists in his city will begin spreading this outrageous rumor that anyone on the right is some angry confederate sympathizer who believes the south shall rise again and wants to keep the black people in chains. Insane but sadly how this kind of negative stereotype/lie begins.

At least we now KNOW how racist the Chicago mayor is, for I truly believe when he sees a white person, ESPECIALLY god forbid a conservative white person, he immediately thinks they are some racist, slave owner and I’m sure he immediately associates that and any other awful stereotypes with that person. He’s an example of a person who, upon visually SEEING a person, first notices the color of their skin and draws all kind of immediate judgements about the person before ever even talking to them.

This makes sense. Albany, NY was similar in that way.

Now portland, Oregon

This is the fruit of leftists controlling education for the past 60+ years. People know nothing about our nation’s history.

Back to this. I checked the article in Germany and now in France. Free access.

I would take the information in the article with a grain of salt though.

Not that Frances politics aren’t messed up. They’re having problems with getting stable government up currently.
